Our hobbies do indeed change as we grow older.

Hello, everyone

I welcome you to my blog. Our hobby ought to be something we enjoy doing, mostly something we do for fun, and hobbies vary from one individual to another. You cannot expect everyone to enjoy doing a particular thing because you enjoy doing it as well. Sometimes I am left wondering how individuals say cooking and cleaning are hobbies for them. As much as I like a clean environment and I like food, cooking and cleaning can never be a hobby, but it's just so. Some things you find stressful and boring, some individuals find them very interesting.

Trust me, this prompt is making me go down memory lane as well as making me wish we could stay kids forever, the days where all our worries were just how to get more toys and ways to have more fun, not what we have today. It was fun while it lasted, though many of us were eager to taste adulthood, and now that we have, we want our childhood days back. Childhood was indeed fun, the days where I really had zero worries and zero problems, just from one fun to another. I only have a problem when my mom decides to interrupt my fun or I have a math assignment or test the next day in school.

As a kid, I had lots of hobbies, plenty of them to keep little me busy as I literally had nothing to do. I was jobless, so I needed something to keep me busy. Having a pile of hobbies and jumping from one to the next helped keep me busy, especially during the holidays. As a kid, I enjoyed painting; I did cycling too, which always landed me in trouble before I got mine; I did lots of video games as well; I had friends who came over, and if not that, they were called to come back home; they didn't mind sleeping over; I had so many toys too; and when there was no power supply, I played with my toys; and most of all, I always sneaked out to play football. Even if mom wants me not to go, I will still make my way to the pitch.

Indeed, our hobbies change with time. Funny how a lot of these things no longer move me. Those days I could spend hours under the sun running after those with bicycles, but today even the one in my house I have not touched for about a year or more. At some point in my life, I dreamt of even becoming a footballer and never thought a time would come where I would go months without even playing and still not feel like a part of me was missing. Those days, if I missed training or playing football for a day, I felt incomplete, but now all I do is watch.

How about painting? I don't even know how to hold my crayons anymore. So over time, our hobbies change, even if we don't want them to. Even if we try to stick to those things we found interesting while growing up, adulthood and the worries of life will force that change on us and leave us with no choice but to change our hobbies.

Thanks for reading my post.
