Only take debts when necessary, and if possible, avoid them.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Going into debt is something every reasonable person tries to avoid until they no longer can, and it becomes inevitable then and only then would they allow themselves to go into it. For every reasonable person, debt is a peacekiller; it takes away your peace and only fills your mind with thoughts about how you would manage to pay back, and it is more depressing when you look around you and there is no way out in sight. Sometimes I wonder how people who borrow money and have amnesia do it. I have a few friends, even relatives, that borrowed money from me, and it's been over a year, and they are comfortable like it is nothing; they are not even bothered about it and act like when they came to borrow it, I told them I was gifting it to them or they asked me to gift them money. Sometimes I wonder where they get that kind of mind from. You are owing somebody, and you are feeling so unbothered, and peace of mind is overflowing in excess.

I have had all these loan applications call me, telling me friends or someone from my contact is owing them and I should tell them to pay up. Imagine the embarrassment and the disgrace, which I am sure I am not the only one they must have called, which means either half or more than half of your contacts know you are owing. Some of these loan applications go as far as posting a person saying they killed a person and buried them in their compound or raped a person just to get the person to pay up. Imagine how far they can go to scandalize and spoil a person's name. All these add up to my fear of debts because even offline there are people you cannot owe, people who might end up giving you the biggest disgrace of your entire existence.

Going into debt can lead to a lot of things; it can be embarrassing, disgraceful, a loss of respect, depression can creep in, and most of all, it can take away your peace. For me, I would not say going into debt is a bad thing, as sometimes it becomes inevitable and our only way to get a problem solved. Every individual at some point had to run into one, no matter how small, but I will only advise that one goes into debt when it becomes inevitable and it just has to happen. Before anyone thinks about going into debt, they must have checked and seen that there is no other way and must have also mapped out a plan on how they would pay back to avoid embarrassment and disgrace.

Some people don't even check if there is another way out aside from going into debt, and they just rush in without any plans on how to pay back, and when the disgrace and embarrassment start coming, they make debt look like a bad thing and something no one should indulge in, but it is their mistake. Debt is not all bad as long as you have a plan on how to pay it back. Don't just take debts without having plans on how you would pay them back and save yourself disgrace and embarrassment.

Mapping out a plan to pay a debt is very important. People don’t do that because I believe there are mostly in a rush and at a dead end when going for loans.
