Mental health is not prioritized in this part of the world.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. When I see movies and how they go for therapy sessions and how people open up and try to clear their heads, I am left wondering if we on this side of the world cannot emulate such. On this side of the world, we only visit the hospital when the condition is close to being critical, and when we do, we only check our body and give it the treatment it needs, forgetting our mental health. Down here, mental health gets little or no attention but does most of the work. Thinking about how to make ends meet is done up there, but after all the stress it undergoes, it gets no compensation at all.

Many of us are guilty; we wait until life starts to flash before our eyes before we do what is expected of us. It is supposed to be that the day we feel any abnormalities in our system is the day we visit the hospital, but down here we just wait for continuous signs, and wait until we can no longer take it, we run to the hospital. In most cases, it is too late, and whatever the problem is must have eaten too deep, and we end up spending more than we were supposed to if we had visited a lot earlier. Some patients send doctors into a state of confusion; they show up late after it must have been late and expect the doctor to do a magic trick since it is his profession, which is very wrong.
For everything that we do as humans, the brain (mental health) plays a part in it, which simply means our mental health works 24/7. When we cry, show emotions, or feel depressed, our mental health plays a part in all of that. When we are happy and excited, our mental health still plays a part in that. Our every action either affects our mental health negatively or positively, which makes it important that we prioritize our mental health so it can keep serving us as we go about our day-to-day activities.
When we fail to care for our mental health, it might fail to respond on the day that we need it the most. We all care for our mental health differently, but what matters is that it works for us, and then we feel relaxed. I will say that whatever works for you is good. For me, whenever I feel stressed out up there, I just rest, take a quick nap, and wake up with my energy rejuvenated and ready to do more work to get it stressed out again. It is the cycle of life; you get your mental worked out and give it the rest it needs; that way, it serves you better.

Sometimes I read books that talk about mental health and how to improve one's mental health, and at first I used to think I was doing something weird since I don't have any mental illness, but reading those books has helped me in ways I cannot imagine. You don't need to wait until it gets extreme before looking for ways to improve your mental health; the earlier the better.
