Doing good should be a thing of the heart.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. Doing good and indulging in helping humanity is an act people engage in and is as old as man, but many people indulge in this act for different purposes or reasons other than just helping humanity. The recipient of this good act might be helped in some way, but this helper might stand to benefit even more than the recipient and somehow exploit this less privileged person without them even having the slightest idea of what is going on. These days, people engage in this act for content and not because they are doing it from their heart; some people also do it as a way to show off to people; some still do it as a way to throw insults at the less privileged; we also have those who do it with intention to gain favor; and those who just do it knowing fully well they are impacting a life and might not even benefit a thing.

The other day TikTok users were insulting a TikTok influencer; she was using an old woman to collect money from her followers but was not giving the woman the money sent. Her first content with the woman was where she bought stuff for the woman and asked her to narrate her story. The woman was extremely happy with the little this influencer brought and felt like she was being helped, whereas this influencer was only using her to extort followers and make her content. Many less privileged people suffer the same thing; some feel like they are being helped, whereas they are being exploited and used for the benefit of the helper alone while they only getting a fraction of the benefits.

There is no doubt that the number of good people who help people without any intention in mind continues to decline, thereby making the world an unsafe space, as you cannot point out who is helping out of their own good heart or who just wants to use you for their own benefit. The feeling that comes with your need being cared for, especially when you cannot care for this need yourself and a helper comes offering to help take care of these needs, can leave you feeling really excited and happy. You won't even have a reason to be angry; you will just be smiling with feelings that words cannot express.

As our world continues to evolve, different styles of giving are being introduced to our society. Today, people give and take record of everything and share it on social media for the world to see. They get to earn in multiples, but the less privileged got help too. I will say a giving like this is a win-win for both parties; the less privileged got help, and the content creator gets rewarded for their content, though sometimes these content creators do it to show off, which is when it becomes very bad.

For me, giving should be from the heart, not to show off or seek the favor or approval of the public, but something you are doing out of your good will. Also, giving shouldn't be done with the intention or hope that at some point the receiver has to pay back or owes one a favor. The intention is as important as the act; givers with a different intention at heart always expect the receiver to return the favor or pay back in some way, and it hurts to realize that someone is not just helping but using you. Discovering that a person is not only helping but also using you can break a person. This makes it important that giving be from the heart, with no intentions aside from wanting to help.

Thanks for reading my post.

I also value good deeds being done from the heart, without ulterior motives, but unfortunately, many people do not think this way. Perhaps the world is heading towards a place from which it may be irreversible, people are more superficial than they should be.

This is actually the thing I have a problem with. I don't have anything against influencers who publish their charity acts online, in the end, what matters is that the person is getting the help they need but it becomes an issue when an influencer is exploiting someone in need without actually giving the rewards to the person. It would have been a different case if that influencer gave all the money donated to that woman, but greed won't let her do that

I love it when good deeds are done without expecting anything in return majority of the people love showing off when they are helping someone
