I really didn't know where to start this time, because there are so many things I want to tell you. Hivers, this is the first time I decide to prepare a travel blog for you, I was motivated mainly because I realized that there are very few activities that people know to do in the coast of Venezuela. Since people always talk about places like sombrero key, playa grande or turtle island... I have always talked about paragliding and beach volleyball, but today I want to show you this activity that I discovered on my family weekend trip to Los Cocos beach, Caracas, Venezuela.

La verdad no sabía por donde empezar esta vez, por que son muchas cosas las que quiero contarles. Hivers, es la primera vez que decido preparar un blog de viaje para ustedes, me vi motivada principalmente por que me di cuenta que hay muy pocas actividades que la gente conoce para hacer en el litoral de Venezuela. Ya que siempre se habla de sitios como cayo sombrero, playa grande o la isla la tortuga... de los parapentes y del voleibol de playa, pero hoy quiero mostrarles esta actividad que descubrí en mi viaje familiar de fin de semana en la playa los cocos, caracas, venezuela.

In all the years that I have been visiting this beach I had always seen street vendors and passersby leaving their footprints in the sand, but I had never realized that the beach was a place where many people went to enhance part of their passions and learn new things and above all to create a very particular lifestyle such as surfing.

De todos los años que llevo visitando esta playa siempre había visto a los vendedores ambulantes y a los transeuntes dejando sus huellas en la arena, pero jamás había caido en cuenta de que la playa era un lugar en donde muchas personas iban a potenciar parte de sus pasiones y aprender cosas nuevas pero sobre todo a crear un estilo de vida muy particular como lo es el surfs.

On this trip I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people and locals from the coast, which at first undeniably gave me a little fear because I did not know at all how people would react to the camera, since in Caracas people usually shy away from this type of activities.... However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the people of La Guaira are very friendly and receptive, I loved that and I felt that it enriched this story a lot. Among the people I met there was a girl who is on a treadmill and a surf teacher who was training a girl, but we will talk about that...

En este viaje tuve la oportunidad de conocer personas maravillosas y locales del litoral, lo que al principio innegablemente me dió un poco de temor por que no sabía para nada como iban a reaccionar las personas ante la cámara, ya que en caracas las personas suelen huirle a este tipo de actividades... Sin embargo me llevé una grata sorpresa al descubrir que las personas de la Guaira son muy amigables y receptivos, eso me encantó y sentí que enriqueció muchisio esta historia. Entre las personas que conocí se destacó una muchacha que está en cinta y un profesor de surfs que entrenaba a una muchacha, pero ya hablaremos de ello...

Mr. Luis Alfredo was very receptive to answer all my questions about this sport, which I liked a lot because I could discover that there are different types of boards, like the one he has in the picture above, which is called Lambor and is ideal for beginners because it is rough and when in contact with water this material becomes sticky, which is great because you can practice stability and balance more easily. Mr. Luis Alfredo was explaining me that the professional boards were different, since these needed a special wax for them because of their smooth condition, he also told me about the important parts of a surfboard and that most people don't know it, telling me that one of the indispensable parts of a board was the rope and the magic clasp that many times you have to buy separately and the rope alone could vary between 30$ and 40$ depending on where you find it. And the magic buckle is the surfer's safety. Since when falling into the water the board floats and by having the safety tied to one of the ankles, it is less likely that the surfer or the professional surfer drowns.

El señor Luis Alfredo fue muy receptivo al responder todas mis dudas acerca de este deporte, lo cúal me gustó mucho por que pude descubrir que existen diferentes tipos de tabla, como la que él tiene en la foto de arriba, la cúal se llama Lambor y es la ideal para principiantes por que es aspera y al estar en contacto con el agua este material se vuelve pegajoso, lo que es genial por que así se puede practicar la estabilidad y el equilibrio con mayor facilidad. El señor Luis Alfredo me estuvo explicando que las tablas profesionales eran un distintas, ya que estas necesitaban una cera especial para ellas por su condición de ser lisas, me habló tambien de las partes importantes que tiene una tabla de surfs y que la mayoría de las personas lo desconocemos, contandome que una de las partes indispensables de una tabla era la cuerda y el cierre magico que muchas veces hay que comprar por separado y la cuerdita sola podría variar entre 30$ y 40$ dependiendo en donde la encuentres. Y el cierre magico es la seguridad del surfista. Ya que al caerse en el agua la tabla sale a flote y al tener atada la seguridad a uno de los tobillos, es menos probable que el practicante o el surfista profesional se ahogue.

En la siguente foto estaba un instructor enseñandole a una chica llamada Albanys, la cúal me contó que llevaba aproximadamente dos años practicando este deporte para ir en algún momento a las competencias que generalmente se hacen en choroni.

After having discovered so much and getting to know this beautiful activity that by practicing it connects you with yourself and with the nature of the waves, my family and I finished this beautiful visit eating sideburns and walking along the shore of the beach, ready to return to Caracas. and I am motivated to tell you more stories like these.

Despúes de haber descubierto tanto y de conocer esta hermosa actividad que al practicarla te conecta contigo mismo y con la naturaleza de las olas, mi familia y yo acabamos esta hermosa visita comiendo patilla y caminando por la orilla de la playa, listos para volver a caracas y yo motivada a contarles más historias como estas.
