Traditional Cake Lumpang With Coconut Topping
Trational cakes always have their own characteristics and textures. Yeah Indonesia is rich in ingredients that have authentic flavors, coconut for example is always the main ingredient that makes the dish unique.
If I previously made a traditional cenil cake made with grated coconut dressing this time I will also invite you to prepare a traditional cake recipe with grated coconut topping but this cake has a different taste from the previous cenil cake.
Lumpang cake
Kue lumpang is one of the most popular traditional cakes in my area. It is usually served during special events in our area as a treat to welcome guests. But now this cake is also very easy to find as a market snack in the morning market every day.
In addition to having a distinctive flavor, this cake is also a delicious cake to be enjoyed after it is cooked in warm conditions. Yeah in my opinion it tastes better than enjoyed afterwards. Well uniquely this cake has a pandan aroma that is quite fragrant, the original pandan aroma is enough to make you tempted.
Well besides pandan leaves, usually many people also make this cake by adding food coloring. But this time I used more pandan leaves that I picked directly in the yard yesterday. The goal is to evoke the original pandan aroma so that the aroma is more authentic and in my opinion this natural coloring is better than others, right?
Ingredients Used
100 grams of wheat flour
65 grams of granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
500 ml warm water
5 pandan leaves
To taste steamed grated coconut
Making Procedure
Prepare all ingredients and mix the two flours and then stir until evenly distributed.
Next add sugar, stir with a spoon until evenly distributed.
Prepare pandan leaves cut into small pieces and then blender until smooth pandan leaves resemble juice.
Next, strain the pandan leaf juice in another container well make sure the juice stays warm so that the texture of the cake will be soft.
Next, apply it to the flour that was prepared earlier, stirring until the dough is evenly distributed.
Then add salt and to make sure there is no bergerindril I saeing the dough.
Then heat the mold, then pour the dough in the mold.
Cook until cooked or until evenly cooked then coat with steamed grated coconut.
Result
Kue lumpang is ready to be served, enjoy it while warm with the aroma of pandan that uploads tastes. Very good enjoyed when relaxing with family, well this dish is very perishable therefore do not use raw grated coconut, make it a habit to use steamed grated coconut. This is not the first time I've prepared this cake, it's often a box cake or gift when my mother goes to a neighbor's event in our area. Yeah as I said before this cake is popular here, besides the process of making it is very easy to make.
The texture of the cake is soft and slightly chewy, the taste is sweet and legit, most importantly, the cake is savory with grated coconut topping. The original pandan aroma is quite appetizing and what makes me most happy is that my mother really likes the result, she says it's perfect, the result is good and most importantly it tastes good.

Sure, A traditional cake that I never get tired of!
It looks really delicious, I would not have imagined that a plant was part of this recipe, I am surprised, I would like to know what aroma it has
The aroma of pandanus is very fragrant, even a lot of this plant is combined in Indonesian dishes as a spice. In addition, it is also used as a natural green dye.
