Aceh itself, is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is located on the tip of the island which is natively populated.

Great Mosque of Islamic Center

Great Mosque of Islamic Center is one of the mosques that has become a popular halal tourist destination which is the largest and grandest mosque in the city of lhokseumawe. Located right in the middle of the city of lhokseumawe, Aceh province, Indonesia. With a mosque building area of ​​around ±16,000 m², it is estimated that it will be able to accommodate ± 1000 worshipers. The total land area is around ±33,000 hectares, with the overall design of the mosque in the classic Middle Eastern style and golden color that makes this mosque the center of attention of local and foreign tourists because it has a very beautiful design.

The construction of the Islamic Center Mosque is often associated with the history of the heyday of the first Islamic kingdom in Indonesia, which is one of the stories of the Samudra Pasai kingdom. At the time of the kingdom, there were so many Middle Eastern immigrants who came to Aceh, so that the history and culture of the Middle Eastern style are still imprinted on the memories of religious figures or government officials, so to commemorate the country, the parties built a mosque which is a place of worship with a Middle Eastern style. Built on vacant land, in the center of Lhokseumawe city, precisely at the intersection of 4 Banda Sakti sub-districts in 2001, the construction has not been completed until now.

The mosque is built on 3 floors, the first floor is a place for ablution, the second floor is a place of worship, while the 3rd floor is a dome area. In the interior of the building, the interior design is still unfinished, only a small part, such as the floor and foundation pillars that have just been restored, while the ceiling is still unfinished, still in the process of being renovated. The architecture and design of the middle eastern nuance make this place of worship look luxurious, the color and structure of the neatly arranged building made of cement and iron is enough to make this building look sturdy, the floors and walls are coated with cream colored ceramics, while the gold colored walls make it very elegant. The relief design is very charming, and will amaze you if you visit this place. At the top of the mosque there is a towering dome with a very bright color, namely dark blue and a mixture of other colors such as sky blue and a touch of white which is very eye catching.

Now for the 1st floor it looks like the basement floor, this area is used for ablution, warehouse, and several other functions, if we are on the 1st floor in the ablution area we will see the lighting connector or ventilation from the 2nd floor which is devoted to the terrace area in the bathroom . The material is on the main terrace when we enter the mosque area. I think this is a building that really has a strong design character and is different from other mosques in Aceh.

Functions of the Islamic Center Mosque

The Great Mosque of the Islamic Center has several other functions, such as a place of worship for the five daily prayers. In addition, this mosque also has a function as an educational foundation, a place to read the Koran (TPA), Community Learning Center (TPBM), Madrasah Cooperatives and Mosques, celebrating Islamic holidays and many other functions. In addition to all these functions, this mosque can also be used for those of you who want to have a wedding or just take a pre-wedding photo to capture the moment of your happy day, coincidentally when I visited there was a couple who was doing a photo shoot there.
