How to Make Simple Snacks from Ampera Cassava
Fried Cassava Cubes (Ampera)
Hi vegan lovers, today I will invite you to see to one of the simple and easy recipes to make.
Made from cassava then fried crispy with various spices. This snack in our area is known as "ampera", don't know why the name is called ampera I don't really understand it, what is clear is that this snack is a favorite snack for many people.
Well ampera snacks usually I often find them in small kiosks that are sold in my village. Many people choose to buy this snack because the process does require a lot of time and accuracy. Previously, I had made this snack very often. If I have a lot of cassava I will definitely prepare this unique snack. The taste is very good and the crunchiness is addictive.
Coincidentally, my mom and I harvested cassava yesterday in our yard. We got one very large cassava fruit, weighing almost 1.5 kg. And that made me think of having to process cassava in a different way. Usually we just boil it. Now this idea is very appropriate to make ampera snacks.
Main ingredients
1 teaspoon salt
Ground Spices
6 cloves of garlic
3 cm turmeric
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon coriander
Making Procedure
Prepare the cassava then wash and cut the cassava into cubes until finish.
After cutting, I washed the cassava again and then steamed the cassava.
Steam the cassava until tender, after the cassava is cooked remove it, then let it cool and set it aside first.
Then blend the spices until smooth, then add to the steamed cassava.
Stir until evenly distributed, then add salt, and leave for a while to soak while heating the cooking oil in a pan.
Next, fry the ampera until brownish yellow or until the ampera is floating on the surface of the oil, which is a sign that the ampera is crispy.
Result
Fried ampera snacks are ready to serve, serve while relaxing or watching I'm sure you will devour them in a flash. Now for storage, store it in an airtight container, so that the ampera lasts a long time. Usually I can last 2 weeks if I make it in large quantities.
For the texture, of course it is very crunchy, savory and cassava can give a delicious taste. I'm sure you'll love this simple snack. You know this snack deserves to be a favorite because it tastes that good.
