Homemade Dimsum Minced Chicken Dimsum
A lot of ready-to-eat dishes are popular in my area, including dim sum. Nowadays, there are a lot of sellers who sell this food at a fairly cheap price. But after we buy it, there must be a sense of disappointment, the texture, the taste and even something that doesn't fit on the tongue. Sometimes I feel surprised myself, even though the food is sold very well, maybe it's positive that my tongue doesn't match the food. Well instead of being disappointed again in the next session when buying processed dimsum outside I tried to make this simple dimsum.
This is not my first time making dimsum, there are several vegan dimsums that I have shared on this platform, all of which you can find on my blog. Now there are a lot of differences in making vegan dimsum and non-vegan dimsum, one of which is the composition of ingredients. And how to prepare the ingredients of course greatly affects the taste of the dimsum results that we will get later.
Minced Chicken Dimsum
As the title above, the dimsum I made is a simple home-style dimsum without a meat grinder. The chicken meat is prepared by mincing, but believe me this will produce a chewier and more delicious dimsum. Far from the usual dimsum that I prepare with finely ground meat.
This is indeed my first attempt at making dimsum by mincing the chicken without grinding it. Of course, with just a little adding flour and some other ingredients. Very easy to do at home and certainly tastes very good.
Ingredients
1 egg
100 grams of tapioca flour
Dimsum skin to taste
1 carrot
1 celery leaf
Scallion to taste
1 tablespoon sesame oil
¼ teaspoon flavoring
¼ teaspoon ground pepper
3 cloves shallot
2 cloves of garlic
½ hazelnut
Finely chop the chicken here use chicken breast so that the texture is chewier later when steamed, make sure the chicken is chopped as finely as possible.
After chopping then add one egg, then season with ground pepper and salt.
Puree shallots, garlic, candlenut puree as finely as possible. Then add it to the prepared chicken mixture.
Add tapioca flour, then stir the batter add sesame oil and celery leaves.
Then wrap the dim sum in a sheet of wrapper, then add grated carrot.
Do it until finished, then steam until cooked, when steamed, don't forget to add a spread of water on the surface of the dimsum so that it is not hard.
Result
Minced chicken dim sum is ready to be enjoyed, serve warm with your favorite sauce. I usually prepare a special sauce for dimsum, but because today the rush to prepare as quickly as possible I did not provide it. I enjoyed it with packaged chili sauce, and the taste is undoubtedly very delicious savory. Most importantly, the chewy texture of the chicken meat was very flavorful.
For a first time impression, making these minced chicken dimsums was absolutely perfect. It was much better when I pureed the chicken with a blender. I think this is an effective way to prepare dimsum with chicken, and I will repeat this recipe in the future.
