First Time Making Fried Soft Bread
Melty and crispy on the outside, you'll love this recipe. At first, I thought that this was a different version of bread, by coating it with fanir, of course, by frying it. This fried bread recipe makes me nostalgic for fried ice cream when I lived in Banda Aceh. The sturdy round shape with a layer of fanir and chocolate filling makes me always imagine the fried ice cream sold on the street. It's very similar except that the filling has ice cream inside which makes bread when bitten, sweet and melting ice cream. But now I rarely see it whether it is no longer there or has even moved places. What is certain is that if I visit the city again, I will definitely look for these snacks again.
At first, I thought this fried bread was the same recipe as my making previous fried bread, Crispy Fried Banana Bread because the ingredients used are almost similar, both using chocolate filling and also fanir on the outside. But the ingredients are very different, this recipe is almost similar to the way bread is usually baked, of course using vegan ingredients. Banana bread, on the other hand, is made using only banana dough, lightly floured to a sticky texture, topped with a chocolate filling and deep-fried. There is no yeast fermentation and it expands like bread and the layers are not textured like regular bread. Well, because of that difference, I would like to share this recipe, I think you will like it. I found this recipe on the internet some time ago and thought it would be very unique and delicious. So by making this cake, at the same time I will invite you to reminisce with the taste that I told you above about fried ice cream. For the filling, not only chocolate, you can add any jam you want, because I have chocolate so I prepare only chocolate. You can use whatever you like be it peanut butter, strawberry, blue berry and many others.
So here's the step by step preparation, let's take a look!.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon instant yeast
2 tablespoon granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
120 ml ice water
100 grams fanir flour
1 chocolate bar
Making Procedure
Prepare the flour in a larger container, then add sugar and instant yeast.
Add little by little water while stirring and kneading, now when it is evenly mixed add salt.
Then add mentenga, knead the dough until it is well mixed, the texture of the dough is a bit mushy but leave it alone because it will make it softer later.
Cover the dough with a cloth for about 20 minutes or until it expands 2 times.
Now while waiting for the dough to rise, I cut the chocolate into small pieces or according to taste.
If the dough has risen, deflate it then divide the dough into 11 parts, leave the size large because I like it.
Next, flatten and put the chocolate filling inside then round again until the surface is smooth.
Then dip it briefly in plain water, then put it in the fanir flour mixture.
After everything is ready to be distributed in the fanir rest again for 30 minutes.
Then fry the crispy until the outside of the fanir is brownish yellow, now when frying make sure to use low heat so that the cooking can be maximized.
Result
So glad the fried bread is ready to be served, enjoy the fried bread when the weather is cold at home. The melted filling makes it even sweeter, in my opinion this texture and taste is very similar to donuts, it's just that this is an easy version to make. I like the crispy outside the most because the fanir coating makes this dish more delicious and has a distinctive flavor.
I think if I wanted a fried ice cream filling, I could have injected the filling into the bread while it was still fried. Hehe I will try to make it next time or maybe I can try it with white bread later it looks easier. What is certain is that this bread is very successful I am very happy, soft and fluffy perfectly.
