Easy Way To Make Cucumber Kerabu

I never thought that cucumber could be processed in this way. The taste is beyond my expectations, and I'm not sure this will be accepted by every tongue in my house.




Cucumbers are indeed famous for their freshness, but processing cucumbers into spicy dishes is what I am used to doing, there are several recipes that I have shared here related to processed cucumbers. But did you know cucumbers can also be processed into a super dish with a blend of fresh coconut milk without cooking. I'm not sure, but again my curiosity made me have to do it.




Kerabu Cucumber

Many people say this is kerabu timun, but I know kerabu timun is different from this recipe. I got this recipe from the internet, so whatever the name of the dish is, it has different characteristics from the cucumber kerabu I've seen from my friends in the past.

Similar to a drink or soup, kerabu timun is a combination of chopped cucumber with chili and shallots like chili sauce then poured with fresh coconut milk processed with warm water. So curious about the taste, let's check out the recipe below.




Ingredients Needed

1 cucumber
1 onion
1 green chili
1 chili pepper3 chili peppers
200 ml coconut milk
¼ teaspoon salt




Cooking Procedure


Step 1


Clean the cucumber skin until it is perfectly clean, some people also add the cucumber skin. Prepare shallots, then wash all ingredients thoroughly.

Step 2


Finely chop the chopped cucumber until smooth so that when eaten it has more flavor.

Step 3


Then chop the red onion finely and chop the chili peppers finely too.

Step 4


All ingredients are ready to be applied, first stir the cucumber with salt, if you like you can add a spoonful of sugar. Then add chilies and chopped onions stir everything.

Step 6


Finally add coconut milk, well here I squeeze the coconut milk with warm water without cooking again. But if you use instant coconut milk I recommend cooking first.

The cucumber kerabu with coconut milk sauce is ready to serve, serve it in a serving bowl look at the unique combination. The chili pieces give a great impression, what I really liked was that when I tried it, it tasted great. I've never tried a dish like this, the spicy, slightly sweet and savory flavors all rolled into one amazing taste. But the freshness of the cucumber made me sure this was an amazing dish that I had never tried.

But the funny thing is that my mother doesn't like it, she says it's weird food. So that's why I said that not all tongues are compatible with this dish. Luckily I only made one serving so I was able to enjoy it on my own.

Fresh coconut milk is only prepared with warm water, I think this only goes well with fresh coconut milk. Because I enjoy it directly when it's fresh!.
