Easy Way to Make Coconut Milk Shrimp Stir Fry
One of the most popular traditional foods in my area is food combined with coconut milk. The combination of coconut milk with natural spices makes ordinary dishes very tasty and certainly has an authentic flavor characteristic. This includes this traditional shrimp dish.
Stir-fried Shrimp Cooked in Coconut Milk
Stir-fried shrimp in coconut milk is a combination of soupy food similar to curry served with coconut milk of course with some mashed spices. Well the hallmark of this dish is green chili pieces, fresh starfruit and potatoes become a mandatory companion in the dish. This dish is characterized by a strong aroma, and the spices make the shrimp fresh and certainly have a savory taste from coconut milk. Well usually many people also use coconut water as a natural flavoring. And not to be left out of this dish are the aromatic leaves from curry leaves and also usually bay leaves.
Here I will show you the step-by-step preparation process for the stir-fried coconut milk shrimp recipe.
Ingredients
200 ml fesh coconut milk
2 pieces of potato
5 green chili peppers
4 pieces of wuluh starfruit
1 sprig of curry leaves
3 cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon coriander
2 cloves shallots
2 cloves garlic
5 pieces of tamarind
2 cm turmeric
Cooking Procedure
Prepare the chopped ground spices and then puree with a blender until completely smooth, then add the ground spices to the shrimp to sauté a little.
Then prepare the potatoes, peel and cut the potatoes into squares according to taste.
Prepare starfruit, take only the outside of the starfruit, then chop the green chili.
If all the ingredients are ready, sauté the curry leaves and also the jalus spices that were left a little sauté until fragrant.
Then add the shrimp that has been stirred in the seasoning, add the potatoes.
Next add chili and starfruit, stir and add a little water.
Finally add coconut milk, leave until cooked and add salt, don't forget to correct the taste if it's right, ready to be removed.
Result
A delicious dish of stir-fry coconut milk shrimp is ready to be served, I usually enjoy this dish with warm rice at noon as a delicious lunch. Of course, with a little vegetable stew, I always stir everything in the rice and eat it. The creaminess and savory taste of the sauce is quite delicious, especially since there is a touch of natural savory flavor from the combination of spices. And most importantly, the aroma is quite strong and it's one of the things I miss most about this coconut shrimp dish.
