20240901_115619.jpg

Enjoying sweets once in a while is a habit that is very difficult to break at home. Moreover, this colorful, chewy and savory traditional snack has been my favorite since childhood.

Cenil is one of the most popular traditional dishes in Indonesia. This food is often a delicious dish at home when there is a certain event or even often a snack food that is often found in traditional markets.

The ingredients used in this dish are very easy to find and the manufacturing process is relatively easy to make. Made from tapioca and wheat flour and then given colorful colors so that it is very unique and liked by many people. In addition, the most interesting is combined with grated coconut and also palm sugar sauce which is the source of the sweetness of the traditional dish.

The taste is indeed very authentic, and what makes me unable not to try this cake is that when enjoying it, it must be wrapped in banana leaves, so it becomes very unique and gives its own flavor in the dish. So here I will invite you to prepare step by step preparation!.

Ripe cenil will usually expand on the surface and the texture is denser and not sticky with others.

Serving Suggestion

Serve the cenil that has been sprinkled with grated coconut by giving the palm sugar sauce flush over it. Then feel the extraordinary sensation in this dish. The combination of cenil with palm sugar sauce does give an authentic taste. It's been a very long time since I've enjoyed cenil, but now that time has been cured. I've been busy out of town for too long and now spending time at home cooking my favorite dishes is a joy in itself.

Well for those of you who are confused about what dish to prepare at home I think this is a traditional dish that you should try. The chewy texture with a mixture of creamy sauce from palm sugar does give an extraordinary taste. For you sweet lovers this is a very suitable dish.

The aroma of palm sugar in the sauce evokes the flavor of the cenil, and most importantly the shredded coconut dressing really makes it savory.

What a colorful and delicious snack. We have nothing like that here in Venezuela, except perhaps for gummy candies.

Thank you so much for this lovely Indonesian treat. I'd love to try it sometime 😁❤️
