Chayote And Cabbage Cooked In Coconut Milk Sauce

20240714_105202.jpg

Siamese pumpkin or often known as jipang pumpkin has a very cheap price in the market where I live. Usually this pumpkin is brought directly from local farmers in the highlands. It is said that this pumpkin sometimes grows easily there so the price is relatively cheaper than other types of vegetables, besides that this pumpkin is rarely in demand by many people so the price is cheap and the stock is abundant in the market. Yesterday alone with this large size I bought at a price of IDR. 3000 very cheap.

Pumpkin is often cooked by stir-frying, but there are several traditional dishes that are processed from pumpkin. For example, like what I'm serving today, usually this kind of soup is served at certain events in our area, usually family events or events for the dead. All ingredients are often used here, but chayote is mostly processed like this. Besides tasting good, chayote also has a very soft texture.

Pumpkin with coconut milk soup is a savory, sweet and spicy dish. The aroma of coconut milk and the abundance of spices give this chayote soup a unique flavor.

Not only that, I made this chayote with coconut milk sauce with the addition of several spices and spicy herbs, and as a complementary vegetable I also added mini cabbage vegetables. In addition, mixing coconut milk in the sauce makes the aroma and taste of this dish even more savory. Moreover, there is a combination of lemongrass and lime leaves in this dish. Green chili pieces are supporting ingredients to make this soup even more spicy. I really like green chili pieces in soupy foods like this. Because later when bitten wow is delicious and very flavorful. I highly recommend processing chayote like this dish, you should try making it at home. Here I will invite you to prepare the recipe!.

My chayote soup bowl is ready to be served in a serving bowl. Just look at the color, it's so pretty and I'm excited to enjoy it right away. This recipe makes 3 medium bowls, which I think is enough for everyone in the house. Now I usually serve this chayote coconut milk soup with warm rice and sometimes even my people usually enjoy it with lontong. It all comes back to your taste, don't you know, I often enjoy it directly in the bowl without any additions.

The aroma is very distinctive, the addition of herbs such as lemongrass and lime leaves makes this soup excellent. Moreover, the natural spicy-savory-sweet taste of the vegetable mixture makes me forget in an instant that I can finish one bowl. Hehe this vegetable is too delicious if processed with coconut milk I like this.
