Finally, I got a delicious coffee.../Finalmente, conseguí un delicioso café...
You may wonder about the title of my post. It turns out, that for a few months now, I have been drinking decaffeinated and instant coffee. This situation has changed some of the routines and rituals that I have always had to drink and prepare my delicious coffee myself.
As I can tell you, coffee for me since I was a little girl, until today, being an adult of 70 years old, has marked my walk through life.
What happens if I don't have my coffee every day? Either I get a headache, or I stay up late because I don't drink caffeine. It seems contradictory, but that's how it happens to me.
Why did I go so long without being able to taste a powdered coffee absent from my palate? For the last 4 years, I have been living in Buenos Aires. In Buenos Aires, and I had to compare or buy. Everything except roasted coffee (with sugar) and it was not easy to choose a type of coffee that I like. Finally I choose it and when some government measures were dictated, it immediately disappeared from the shelves or stores.
Yesterday, when we went shopping for the month, I found like a treasure this new black friend that is going to my house. In the following pictures I will tell you about my experience. “I feel like a little girl, with new toy.”

Se preguntarán acerca del título de mi publicación. Resulta, que desde hace unos cuantos meses, he estado tomando café descafeinado e instantáneo. Esta situación ha cambiado, algunas rutinas y rituales que siempre he tenido para tomar y preparar yo misma mi delicioso café.
Como les manifiesto, el café para mí desde que era una niña, hasta hoy, siendo un adulto de 70 años, ha marcado mi andar por la vida.
¿Qué ocurre si no tengo mi café a diario? O me duele la cabeza, o me trasnocho al no tomar cafeína. Al parecer eso es contradictorio, pero así me ocurre.
¿Por qué pasé tanto tiempo sin poder degustar un café en polvo ausente de mi paladar? Desde hace 4 años, soy residente en Buenos Aires. En Buenos Aires, y había que comparar o comprar. Todo menos el café torrado.(Con azúcar) y no resultó nada sencillo, elegir un tipo de café que me guste. Al fin lo elijo y cuando se dictaron algunas medidas del gobierno, enseguida se desapareció de las góndolas o almacenes.
Ayer, cuando fuimos a las compras del mes, encontré como un tesoro este nuevo amigo negro que va ami casa. En las siguientes imágenes les contaré de mi experiencia. “Me siento como una niña, con juguete nuevo.”

It is a coffee whose label says that it is from Colombia. Half kilo package, it cost 14,000 Argentinean pesos. It is one of the cheapest among the few brands that the establishment has.

Es un café cuya etiqueta dice que es de Colombia. Empaque de medio kilo, costó, 14000 pesos argentinos. Es uno de los más económicos entre las pocas marcas con que cuenta el establecimiento.
I was able to take out the brewer I brought from Venezuela, to prepare my new brand of coffee in Buenos Aires. This choice became a mystery, because I had never tried it before. I only reviewed the contents and the recommendations on the package. Ah, of course, something very important is that it does not say that it is roasted coffee. It should be pure coffee, and this one offers fruity flavors, 100% Arabica, of great intensity, it says, with a slight cocoa flavor, but I did not feel that when I tasted it, due to the contrast and the power of its somewhat acidic content, in addition to the roasting time and the citric notes. Anyway, it was the one I chose because the rest, which was on the counter, had nothing to do with a coffee for me, normal, and that comes to my taste, as I treasure it.
![SPANISH]Pude sacar la coladora que traje de Venezuela, para preparar mi nueva marca de café en Buenos Aires. Esta elección se convirtió en un misterio, porque nunca lo había probado. Tan solo revisé el contenido y las recomendaciones del empaque. Ah, claro, algo muy importante es que no dice que es café torrado. Debía ser puro café, y este ofrece sabores afrutados, 100% arábico, de gran intensidad, dice, que con ligero sabor a cacao, pero eso, no lo sentí al probarlo, debido al contraste y el poder de su contenido algo ácido, además el tiempo de tostado y las notas cítricas. En fin, fue el que elegí porque el resto, que estaba en el mostrador, no tenían nada que ver con un café para mí, normal, y que le llegue a mi gusto, tal y como lo atesoro.
The only thing I can tell you is that when I got home, I was so anxious to try it that I immediately turned on the coffee pot to boil enough water and wash my strainer well, since it had not been used for a long time.
Next, I added, as usual, four teaspoons of coffee powder and moistened it for two minutes, with an amount of water to cover it and provide moisture to the powder. Of course, during this whole ceremonial type treatment, my taste buds were almost bursting with anxiety.
![SPANISH]Lo único que les puedo decir es que al llegar a casa, la ansiedad por probarlo era tal, que enseguida encendí la cafetera para hervir agua suficiente y lavar bien mi colador, ya que tenía mucho tiempo sin uso.
Seguidamente, agregué, como siempre, cuatro cucharaditas de café en polvo y lo humedecí por dos minutos, con una cantidad de agua que cubrirlo y proporcionarle humedad al polvo. Por supuesto, que durante todo este tratamiento tipo ceremonial, mis papilas estaban ya casi por estallar de la ansiedad que sentía.
Already moistened, I poured the rest of the boiling water. I don't know if I can explain it, but my face looked like a poem, seeing and feeling my kitchen impregnated with all that aroma, my eyes with that dark brown color and my palate with a taste so longed for and absent in my organism, sadly addicted to caffeine. I say sadly, because I went for a long time without drinking real coffee...
![SPANISH]Ya humedecido, le solté el resto del agua hirviendo. No sé si me puedo explicar, pero mi cara parecía un poema, al ver y sentir impregnada mi cocina con todo ese aroma, mis ojos con ese color marrón claroscuro y mi paladar con sabor tan anhelado y ausente en mi organismo, tristemente adicto a la cafeína. Digo tristemente, porque estuve mucho tiempo sin tomar café de verdad...
Once the first sip of coffee was strained, always remembering my old man, who liked his coffee very strong. Then my mother would offer him daily, the first one that came out of the strainer. That is why I tell you about my dependence on coffee and those who know about coffee, know that not even in restaurants with coffee machines is the taste of homemade and freshly brewed coffee comparable.
![SPANISH]Una vez colado el primer trago de café, recordando siempre a mi viejo, que le gustaba su café bien cerrero o de sabor fuerte. Entonces mamá le ofrecía a diario, el primero que salía del colador. Por eso les detallo, sobre mi dependencia al café y los que conocen de café, saben que ni en los restaurantes con máquinas es comparable el sabor del café casero y recién colado.
Having quenched my thirst for freshly brewed coffee, I prepared myself a delicious breakfast with a delicious Venezuelan arepa, with refried black beans, avocado, grated cheese and butter. So I came to write in front of the PC, enjoying these two gastronomic and very Creole delicacies.
