Wednesday walk | From Nature to City: Wonderful Stream

Hello everyone, today the weather was very nice here in Norway and when it's nice people usually prefer to spend the day outside because nice weather is very important in a climate like this and spending time at home on such an important day can be pointless. In the afternoon we went out for a walk and we had a pleasant walk around the periphery of the area where we live, without going to the center. While we were walking, we thought of sharing with you what we saw around us. After all, every country can have a different architectural structure and culture, so we wanted you to see what kind of environment we have in our region, in Norway - Kvinesdal. If you are ready, we are starting the walk, don't forget to put your coffee or tea in your thermos!

After we stepped out of our house, we crossed to the next side and followed the walking path there. This is actually a very nice walking path and there are beautiful flowers all around. We didn't take any photos because we thought of preparing such a content after we passed this area, but if I go there tomorrow morning, I will add photos to the comments.

As you follow this path, you start to hear the sound of water in the distance and as you walk, it gets louder and louder. The reason for this is that there is our favorite bridge here and there is a wonderful stream flowing under this bridge. As we walk I will show you a very interesting place, this is the Kvinesdal office of the JFF organization.

The JFF organization is quite widespread in Norway and they provide training and material assistance to JFF members, usually about hunting, fishing. JFF is not only present in Kvinesdal but also in many other parts of Norway and the current number of members is over 120.000. You have to pay a yearly fee to be part of the team and in return you can organize activities with people you share the same hobby with, get the support you need to pursue your interests and stay motivated. They even provide you with boats for fishing, which is really cool! At the same time, JFF publishes a magazine, which you can pick up regularly from your mailbox at home.

There is usually no one inside this office, but on certain days and times of the week sometimes there might be some staff, I think they might be here to answer the phone or they might be here to deliver equipment to their members in the Kvinesdal area.

Just behind the JFF office you can see this wonderful view. Since we are on our way here, we will cross the bridge together! This is a road for walkers and cyclists, as you can see on the sign. After going down the ramp a bit, we came to the beginning of the bridge and now it's impossible to hear each other here. I wish I could make you listen to the sound of this place, it really gives you peace and makes you pee 😅

There is a wonderful stream from the left to the right of the bridge and in the summer there was almost no water flow here and the water level was quite low, there is even a small beach on the road across the bridge and we used to leave our stuff there and swim here. Of course, it is impossible to do such a thing now because it is 8-12 degrees!

Let me give you some information about the stream, we can see how much electricity costs in Norway at the moment. It is usually cheaper in the evening and at night, more expensive during the day. If the flows are high here, the price of electricity is cheaper the next day. This has become an entertainment for us, when we see that the stream is high, we can predict that the electricity will be cheaper tomorrow.

These houses you see here are right next to the bridge and I really don't understand how people live here. Probably there is a lot of noise in the house, or they have very good insulation because otherwise I can't imagine living here. Hearing the sound of the stream is momentarily peaceful of course, but I think 24/7 might be a bit of a problem.

When we cross the street from here, there are 3-4 more of the black houses you see in the photo and they look great in concept, I can't show you all the houses in one frame because there are people in front of the house and I don't want to disturb them, but you can see at least one of them in the photo. I think these houses are one of the most beautiful houses in Kvinesdal, they are not far from the center and they are even very close to the square that you will see in the rest of our walk, I love these houses!

We continue our walk by following this path and on our right side we will see Byggvell, Volvo, Renault and Instinct. Byggvell is a big company that sells construction materials, Volvo and Renault have dealers here, Eren liked the Volvo place very much when he first saw the Volvo place, he even asked me to add a photo of these places, it is not a section that interests me very much, but maybe you will like it. Instinct gym and this is one of the two gyms in Kvinesdal. It is located in the square, so people who want to go to the gym usually prefer this place. Since the gym is also located in the square, I can say that we are now in the square. There are various shops here and there is a gas station.

It was a very enjoyable walk for us, we wanted to include you in this walk as the road we took on our way to the town square was one that we liked very much, I hope you enjoyed reading it. Your questions and comments are always welcome. Thank you for your time.
