WHATEVER YOUR HANDS FIND DOING, DO IT TO THE BEST OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE 👌

My encounter with my former Boss two weeks ago made me come up with this topic today and so I decided to share it with you all, maybe you can pick a thing or two here.

I got an Admin Assistant job through recommendation in one of the oil and gas firms (private) within my vicinity in 2017. Although I was recommended, others were too and so we all had an interview and I was the chosen one🤗. To start with, the job was not my area of specialization, I studied Dental Technology at the university but at that time, the job I had as a Dental Technologist was draining me due to far distance coupled with Lagos state's crazy traffics. So many times I felt so sick due to the traffic stress daily and so working as an Admin Assistant in a place very close to my home, just 10minutes walk, with almost same salary was a kind of burden lifted to me after all, still same money we are looking for, though different work experience.

I resumed the Job and got trained by the company and within one month, I was good to go. I handled the job as if the company was my father's company and that alone made my Boss so pleased with me. He is a very strict man but he doesn't joke with someone who can add value to his company and so he went to the extent of establishing a relationship with my husband. He invited my husband and me for dinner which ended up with a huge gift, and I was like, what am I even doing differently that made him so kind to my family?

Well, a day came....it was a day to announce my resignation from the company due to family reasons and also my family relocation to another part of Lagos. My boss couldn't process and accept the fact so easily but then he had no options. I assisted in finding a replacement for him and even guided the new employee for two weeks before leaving. Ever since I resigned in January 2019, we have maintained that relationship, I have assisted the company in some ways whenever they needed my attention. My boss also on hearing that I gave birth last year, didn't hesitate to send a huge money gift, and recently, he also bought my real estate properties, wow...it's been awesome all because I put in my best in working for his company in the past!

A few weeks back, the company invited me and this time around pleaded that I should consider working for them as a part-time job, 3 times weekly, with added salary 😂, but then I declined because it's not what I can do now due to family reasons.

All these experiences with the company during and after my resignation led me to some self-reflection. However, not all Bosses can reward a good deed but my point is, that whatever your hands find doing, do it with everything in you, even this blogging you have found in this Blockchain, if it didn't reward you now, it will in the future!
