Unwinding Together

What are the activities you love engaging with whenever you are set to unwind? Maybe I can add that to mine, but before then, I will share with you the fun and engaging activities I had with my husband recently.

Sometimes this year, I began the journey of learning how to play chess ♟️. I was actually challenged by my 6-year-old son, who plays chess a lot in his school and has been telling me all about chess. So I saw it's a game of the brain, and I love exercising my brain with such games, thus my drive to learn chess.

I must confess that in the beginning, this game was challenging, or, let me say, confusing, lolz, but I am getting better with it currently. For me to satisfy myself, I needed to play with a novice, hehehe, and so I dragged my husband to play with him. Hubby does not know a jack in the game, but I convinced him that I would teach him well before we started gaming, and I did, and we began.

The game session was filled with loads of fun and laughter as I kept winning against him and even cheating him in the process because he doesn't know much about the game, lolz. I was just happy having the fun of my life as a consistent winner of the game, and that made my day. I dare not play with someone like @justfavour, nay, that would be total blunder on my side because I am still a learner but far better than hubby, lolz, hubby is just the best person to opress with this game for fun anyways..lolz

The day out with hubby playing chess, taking cold stone ice cream, and enjoying fish stew rice was super refreshing to my system😉.

I had wanted this kind of experience—having quality time with my husband away from kids distractions—and I had it and loved it. The session sure made my weekend unique and lovely; I'm craving more of it.

That's all from me today.
Hope you are enjoying your #beautifulSunday.

Have a blessed week!!.

Whether chess or not, provided there's rice and beans with meat, it's worth it.

Hehe. My sweet Nkem is making big moves. I’m glad your son challenged you.

Chess is a very beautiful game. Many people think it is boring and difficult, but it is just because they haven’t learned the basics yet.

Welcome to the chess world, mama. I love the chess board.

playing chess is interesting and I also like it but it takes good amount of time to complete a game unless you are a newbie. If 2 good people play chess it may take more than hours also.

Aww, it's nice that you challenged yourself to learn chess.
You both should enjoy yourself oo, it's not easy taking care of kids all the time 😅

I've missed reading your interesting post sha. I'm definitely going to add gaming with hubby to my bucket for the end of the year. I hope I get one that I'm better at than he is.

Hey, be fair and square... its not fair to take advantage of your husband not knowing anything about chess and winning each game, he will feel bad.

You should teach him and read chess books. My childhood my bro and Dad used to play lots of chess so at 8, I just knew how chess pieces move and all...

My brother plays chess online still and he actually improved his game learning stratergiees from books!

Anyway... you may buy some chess books for your 6 year old then!!! He guess he beats you in the game.

Initially, my Dad used to win against my brother but as my brother grew older he beat my dad a lot more times...!

I never learned chess though! Not as intelligent as the men in the family maybe!
