She Inspires Me A Lot - My Hive Role Model
A role model is a person who inspires you greatly! You love and admire so many things about him or her. He or she may not be perfect, but there are unique traits you always admire and strive to emulate.
@merit.ahama is a role model to me here on the Hive Blockchain. Apart from Merit, I have other amazing souls I look up to in this blockchain, but I chose to discuss her because she was the first person who inspired me here. She may be surprised by some things I will reveal today about her, but the truth is that most of the motivation I got as a beginner, when I still saw hive as a strange land, came from her initially.
The very day I reluctantly made my intro post in Hive after much sermon from my onboarder, Merit Ahama gave me a warm welcome through her comment, and then she followed my account. I was like, Who is this being so kind in word (via comment) to a stranger like me? I immediately hit the follow button on her account as well and started following her blogs. She still comes around with her encouraging comments whenever I struggle to make a post, and I do read her posts and drop my comments as well.
One thing that attracted me to her was her writing style. She knows how to structure her post, and it comes out well. I was battling with developing content in Hive and could go days without writing a word here. I only engage, learn some of Merit's writing styles, and log out. With time, I started seeing the Dreemport challenge, and I couldn't handle any of the topics 🤦 You wouldn't blame me;, I have never been a writer, but I was in to learn. I saw Merit attending all of Dreemport's challengese and even winning gifts. The day I read that Merit won a gift from Dreemsteem and she would receive her package all the way from California,I was motivated to keep following her footstep. Shee became my role model. You know success is contagious 😌. I can say she was once my secret admirer too, until we began talking.
I can't remember how I got her WhatsApp number, but just know that I am a curious being, and when I am determined to achieve a particular thing, (positive though) , I make every effort to achieve that. I asked Merit one thousand and one questions about hive through watsapp, and she was assisting me. She also made me stop seeing Dreemport as a tedious exercise. I was actually watching them (dreemers) explore Dreemport from afar, but Merit's guidance one day made me join in with all my heart, lol, and I began to enjoy the whole experience.
Most times, merit will say that it baffles her how a mom of three like me stays active in hive and in engagement, but the truth is that I learned my engagement style from her. Are you surprised Merit? Lol. You have been my hive role model from the beginning, and I meant it even though you may not be aware of this. Then, I learned from Merit's blog back then that I can actually share my day's activities in Hive, provided it's a quality post. I never knew, but I watched all her activities here and kept following them, and I never regretted doing that.
I do check her blogs and wallet more often and derive motivation to put in my best. Thanks to Web3, the blockchain is transparent enough that we can know what others are doing, including their transactions, but have no access to it. This aspect of my monitoring has been a great motivation for me. Merit's growth in the Blockchain is indeed contagious, and that's why I call her "my whale..lolz, oh yeah, she has a long term vision for hive, I believe we all do😇.
She is hardworking, inspiring, determined, dedicated, disciplined, understanding, loving, and welcoming.
These are some of her traits that I have observed here, and they are worthy of emulation for better growth 💹📈.
