One Interesting Event

The year is moving on, and I am excited to be alive to see it through. There is also something exciting coming up in a few days that I am going to enjoy. It's an event of my immediate younger sister's (baby sister's) traditional wedding ceremony.

The above pictures is my sisters and I. My elder sis is the one in red, my younger sis who is about to go down the aisle is the one in the middle while I am the one with glasses..lol

Traditional marriage ceremony is one event I love to attend more than white wedding especially when it happens in another state with different culture like mine. However, It's always a time for me to revisit our culture and learn from the elders on how things are done in my community. Aside refreshing my mind on our culture, it's also an event full of fun activities to relax, eat, drink, dance , mix up with relatives both close and distance relatives and be happy.

My siblings are all living in different states in our country and we are all traveling home for this event. It's our baby sis wedding and traditional ceremony, the little sister and the only last born we have got, we plan to show her all the love we can on her big day. It's been months I saw my twin brother last and I can't wait to hug him so tightly 😊

I wouldn't deny the fact that before now, I was skeptical about traveling due to lots of factors in consideration around my kids and husband. At a point, I took the decision of not traveling, I seek the attention of my brothers, tabled my issues with them and they were of the opinion that I stay back in Lagos however, the whole thing changed When my mum heard that I was planning not to come home. She stepped in and changed everything positively. This is just happening 3 days ago and the event is on 12th April 2023, just in 8 days time, the event will happen. It's been a bit challenging for me to prepare for this traveling. My family have a uniform to be worn by every sisters in the house...I have been running up and down here in Lagos trying to sew mine within the few days remaining and getting all necessary things for my travel. All thanks to hive, my earning saved the day for me in getting some few things I needed.

Hopefully, I will be traveling on the Easter day, this coming Sunday for the wedding. I plan to stay back a bit in my village to enjoy some local delicacies, visit our farm and check for any available harvest, have a nice time with my siblings, etc. For my hive activities, I wouldn't promise consistency within the period I will be in my village due to network problems. But I would always try to show up once I don't have restrictions on network.

Overall, it's going to be fun and I promise to update you guys on how traditional marriage is being done in my tribe and in my community through this upcoming marriage ceremony of my little sister.
