A WALK TO OUR FARMLAND π π π
It's Wednesday, can you walk along with me to our farmland? It's good to see how the plants have been doing well after the cultivation a few months ago.
This corn is ready for harvest
The rainy season has been very much around in my country and lots of farmers have been planting this season, waiting for the harvest time to reap what they sow. My mum on the other hand cherishes farming a lot and since the demise of my Dad, and the unavailability of my brothers who usually assist her in cultivation, she still finds ways of farming and that is by tasking my siblings and me for a particular amount of money π² to pay workers that will do the job. Of course, we always gladly pay so that our family farming experience will continue.
Cassava farmland
You can see how the cassava is doing well, mum added lots of manure to all the farms. And one thing she always does is mixed cropping. She loves utilizing our lands by πplanting two or more pieces of crops at the same time.
Walking down to other of our farmlands, I saw that the cocoa yam plants π are so green and that's the evidence of adequate manure on it also a proper weeding was done as well to enhance the proper growth of the plants without interruptions of πΏ weeds.

If you look closely, you will see a palmπ΄ tree inside the land. Funny enough, the palm tree grew on its own. Mum didn't plant it herself but just saw it growing. The palm tree is a wonderful plant that produces palm π fruits which are processed into palm oil for cooking different kinds of meals
All the farmland is doing so great even with the mixed cropping. I see competition among the cropsπ here.
mixed cropping
This particular farmland was where mixed cropping finished π , I couldn't stop laughing and asked mum why didn't she give the crops some breathing space. I wouldn't blame her anyways due to our limited lands.
Finally, we reached one of our lands where this pear π plant grows. Wow, it was painful I couldn't climb to pluck some at that moment although I wanted to, but mum insisted that I shouldn't do that to avoid falling down but rather wait for someone to help me later before I travel back and besides it was still half ripe.

So many times, my mother made a lot of sales from the farmland to pay for my siblings and my school fees those days when were still small. To date, she still harvests some for home consumption and sends some to us and also sells some, and makes a whopping amount of money π΅ for her other needs.
It was a wonderful walk even though I went with my baby but mum carried him while I explore the farmlands taking these shots.
That was all about my walk a few weeks ago when I traveled to see my mum.
Glad to participate for the first time in this amazing community created by @tattoodjay.

The farm is fruitful.
The mixed cropping didn't hinder any of the crop from doing well.
The cocoyam and corn are fresh.
Yes...the mixed cropping was just too much π but they are all doing well

You are welcome, dearie...
So, in that first photo were you more interested in showing off your nail polish cover in that corn photo? Hahahahahahahahahaha!!! Pretty color lol!!!π I like it when my wife wears that color nail polish.
It is so cool to have your very own food crops, I don't know about there, but here the prices in the store are going up all the time now. Plus, there is no pesticides or herbacides on those plants, correct?
This post was obtained through Dreemport.
