🎧Time for Three Tune Tuesday🎸💿🎶

Hello, Hive Friends!

It's been entirely too long since I cranked out a post and I have to admit I'm a bit rusty. I stay active curating and upvoting when I can. Long story short, due to arthritis related problems so bad it necessitated surgery in my right thumb, I am unable to type and do everything as I once did. More about that painful experience another time...

I am finally back on Hive today to join in the fun Three Tune Tuesday #TTT thanks to our amazing host @ablaze and talk about one of my all time favorite subjects:

M U S I C !

For track one I chose a favorite song of mine to kick off things and get everyone moving with "Heart of Glass" by the lovely singer Blondie! The pop song appeared on the album Parallel Lines released in 1978.

"Heart of Glass" - Blondie

Next up is a tune that most likely was overlooked by most that appeared on Billy Joel's The Stranger album released way back in 1977. I played the vinyl over and over sooooo many times; I still listen to it: creaks, staticky pop sounds and all! Give it a listen...

"Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" - Billy Joel

I finish up my post with a song performed by a goth/alt rock/punk band called Concrete Blonde from the album Bloodletting released in 1990. Something about the frontwoman, Johnette Napolitano's, singing cuts right to my heart and soul!

"Joey" - Concrete Blonde

I'm sorry to hear about your thumb! That must be painful, and it's amazing how dependent we are upon that simple opposable digit. Hopefully you're on the rebound!

Great choices in songs. Blondie's Heart of Glass has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, but it's one I enjoy. I think it's neat that you still listen to vinyl, too. Most of my vinyl is either Mozart, Neil Young, or Franz Ferdinand (it's an eclectic collection), but my shellac collection of 78s is wide and varied. Makes me happy to come across others who still enjoy the Old Ways of listening to music. (one day we'll be as revered as the ancient elders are now)

It’s great to have you back @ninahaskin. Arthritis isn’t fun, I can relate with the pain. I’m so glad that surgery went smooth, and you can do what you like now 🌷.

Long story short, due to arthritis

Ouch I can relate only too well unfortunately Nina.

Blondie and Parallel Lines was the first album I ever bought when I was at school!
Simply fantastic and Debbie I even saw playing solo a few times.

Wonderful tunes for your comeback!

Sorry to hear about your surgery and welcome back Nina, these songs very nice, and I'll definitely add my list. I don't have the best taste in music honestly, however I love listening to old music from the 80 90s 🙂

It's wonderful to see you posting again. I hope that the surgery you had on your thumb resolved the issue you had with arthritis.

I am very familiar with your first two songs and enjoyed listening to them as they reminded me of some good times.

The last song you chose I figured I would recall once I listened to it, but I don't think I've ever heard it before. Another good choice that I will have to add to my playlist.

Enjoy the upcoming weekend and hopefully, we'll be seeing more of your blogs in the near future.

Once I had a love....

GAH! Love this song. Used to have Parellel Tracks on vinyl, or my Dad did, and still love it. It's gotten so I can't think of 'glass' without hearing this song in my head.

Oh My. If you really want to post you can use speech to text. Three Tunes is always fun. This time I just magically got transformed into a shopping mall in 1982. Such a weird feeling. I remember watching Flash Gordon and Popeye around this time. Fun times, but I was only 5, hahahahaha. In Korea I would have to call you "big sister" (Nu na). I personally am always grateful for your good cheer.

Hey there, so sorry to hear about your thumb, that's gotta be tough, but hopefully it will start to feel better soon. My brother in law has arthritis and he swims in the cold Irish sea every morning here in Galway and says it helps a lot, he is also on a biologic treatment, but the cold water immersion definetly helps too.

I notice that you had no post for 7 months and now two #ttt posts, that makes me really happy that Three Tunes Tuesday has helped you to get back posting and what an opener with an absolute classic from Blondie, a perfect way to start any playlist or trio of tunes.

I must confess, I don't know Billy Joel that well, but really enjoyed that song you shared, lots going on, my favourite though is often the case is the one I had never heard before - I agree - Johnette Napolitano has an amazing voice, I will have to check out more from her.
