My fairy tale drawings // Mis dibujos de cuento de hadas

We all know that inspiration comes and goes at times, at this moment although I don't have all the time in the world due to my responsibilities with the university, I feel the inspiration at the surface and I'm trying to take advantage of small free moments to let the ideas flow.

A couple of nights ago I was browsing Pinterest when I found a series of drawings that left me totally enraptured, they transmitted tenderness, sensuality, femininity and love... I felt that they connected very well with me and made me want to draw them in my own style.

Process:

I started with the sketch the same day I found the images but today I found a little space in my time to sit down and start coloring, for that I decided to use my beloved watercolors.

The pose that took me the longest to color was the one of the fairy at the top, at first I couldn't get the size of her head in proportion to her body so I had to erase several times before I was satisfied with it.

I was thinking of using only watercolors for all the details of these drawings, but after going through my box of materials, I found that I still had a container with a little bit of India ink, so I diluted it with a very minimal amount of water and outlined the contours and did some shading in some specific areas.

The tranquility I felt during the whole process was very special, I really needed to sit down to draw and connect with myself again. They are not too elaborate or too big drawings, but I think that within their simplicity lies their beauty.

I love all three, and I may do more elaborate renderings of them in the future, but for now, my favorite is the tender sleeping fairy, which one is your favorite?

Todos sabemos que la inspiración va y viene por épocas, en este momento a pesar que no tengo todo el tiempo del mundo debido a mis responsabilidades con la universidad, siento la inspiración a flor de piel y estoy tratando de aprovechar pequeños momentos libres para dejar fluir las ideas.

Hace un par de noches estaba navegando por Pinterest cuando encontré una serie de dibujos que me dejaron totalmente embelesada, me transmitieron ternura, sensualidad, feminidad y amor... sentí que conectaban muy bien conmigo y me dieron ganas de dibujarlos a mi estilo.

Proceso:

Empecé con el boceto el mismo día que encontré las imágenes pero hoy fue que encontré un pequeño especio de mi tiempo para sentarme y empezar a colorear, para eso decidí usar mis queridísimas acuarelas.

La pose que más tiempo me llevó plasmar fue la del hada de la parte superior, al principio no lograba que el tamaño de su cabeza tuviera proporción con la de su cuerpo así que tuve que borrar varias veces antes de sentirme satisfecha con ella.

Pensaba usar solamente acuarelas para todos los detalles de estos dibujos, pero tras revisar mi caja de materiales, encontré con que aún conservaba un recipiente con un poco de tinta china, así que la diluí con una cantidad muy mínima de agua y delineé los contornos y realicé algunas tramas a modo de sombra en algunas zonas específicas.

La tranquilidad que sentí durante todo el proceso fue muy especial, realmente necesitaba sentarme a dibujar y conectar conmigo misma otra vez. No son dibujos demasiado elaborados ni muy grandes, pero creo que dentro de la sencillez que poseen está su belleza.

Me encantan los tres, y quizá haga representaciones más elaboradas de ellos en un futuro, pero de momento, mi favorito es la tierna hada dormida, ¿Cuál es tu favorito?
