Compilation my favorite sketches of 2023 [ENG-ESP]

Today I thought of making a compilation of my favorite sketches, since in the last months of 2023 I didn't keep much the processes of the drawings I was doing, this time I will tell you a little of how I did them and why I like them so much.

This is the first drawing I did in my mini sketchbook, I remember I felt excited but also a little nervous because I wanted my first drawing to be good. The materials I used were alcohol markers, if I remember correctly, it was also the first time I used these markers and I didn't have much practice with them.

My inspiration was an illustration of my favorite digital artist (Stephaniepriscilla), I really like her style of drawing and also the concept that usually represents her works.

I didn't do many realistic drawings this year, I didn't draw much with pencil either, I think these are one of the few sketches I did with complete dedication, and of course, I liked both of them very much but I think I should have practiced more this kind of drawings. The drawing on the left is an image of an ancient sculpture of the goddess Nike, a goddess from Greek mythology.

The drawing on the right is a portrait photograph I found on Pinterest that I couldn't really find again, but I decided to draw and practice the proportions of the male face, and, well, now that I see it I feel it lacks a little more contrast, but I still like it.

I made this page very spontaneously, I had bought a new palette of watercolors and I wanted to test how good pigmentation they had, so I made several random drawings with pictures I found on my phone and this was the result. The watercolors are good, they are an inexpensive school brand but they still paint very well. In this drawing I also tried a white gel pen that I bought for the first time and since then it is one of my favorite materials because I love to add sparkles or points of light to the drawings.

The day I made these drawings I wanted to do a kind of color practice with watercolors, as you can see, I used a palette of primary colors, there is a lot of yellow blue and red, but I used them in a subtle way so that they harmonize and create a romantic and delicate effect. To outline I used a brown ink pen. The drawing of the girl with the braids is my favorite, I didn't expect the colors in the hair to come out so well.

This is one of the most recent portraits I've done, (it's actually smaller than it looks). What I like about this portrait is the fluidity of the brushstrokes with watercolor (as you will see, it's the material I usually use the most), sometimes I find it hard to be so spontaneous painting with them and I feel I don't get the effect I would like in portraits especially, but when I did this drawing I relaxed and was much more patient to let each layer dry well before adding another one on top of it. Again I used the white gel pen to highlight some details. What I like most about this drawing is her look.

That's all for now. I have about 20 pages left to finish the sketch, so I already have to go looking for a new one so I can keep sharing with you new drawings and experiences.

El día de hoy se me ocurrió hacer una recopilación de mis sketches favoritos, ya que en los últimos meses del 2023 no guardé mucho los procesos de los dibujos que iba haciendo, esta vez les contaré un poco de cómo los hice y porqué me gustan tanto.

Este es el primer dibujo que hice en mi mini sketchbook, recuerdo que me sentí emocionada pero también algo nerviosa porque quería que mi primer dibujo fuera bueno. Los materiales que usé fueron marcadores de alcohol, si mal no recuerdo, también fue de las primeras veces que usaba estos marcadores y no tenía mucha práctica con ellos.

Mi inspiración fue una ilustración de mi artista digital favorita (Stephaniepriscilla), me gusta mucho su estilo de dibujo y también el concepto que suele representar sus obras.

No hice muchos dibujos realistas este año, tampoco dibujé mucho con lápiz, creo que estos son de los pocos sketches que hice con completa dedicación, y por supuesto, ambos me gustaron mucho pero pienso que debí practicar más este tipo de dibujos. El dibujo de la izquierda se trata de la imagen de una escultura antigua de la diosa Niké, una diosa de la mitología griega.

El dibujo de la derecha es una fotografía de retrato que encontré en Pinterest y que realmente no pude encontrar de nuevo, pero que decidí dibujar y practicar las proporciones del rostro masculino, y, bueno, ahora que lo veo, siento que le falta un poco más de contraste, pero aún así me gusta.

Esta página la hice de manera muy espontánea, había comprado una nueva paleta de acuarelas y quería probar qué tan buena pigmentación tenían, así que hice varios dibujos al azar con fotografías que iba encontrando en mi teléfono y este fue el resultado. Las acuarelas son buenas, son de una marca escolar económica pero aún así pintan muy bien. En este dibujo también probé un bolígrafo de gel blanco que me compré por primera vez y que desde entonces es de mis materiales favoritos porque amo añadir brillos o puntos de luz a los dibujos.

El día que hice estos dibujos quise hacer una especie de práctica de color con acuarelas, como ven, usé una paleta de colores primarios, hay mucho amarillo azul y rojo, pero los usé de manera sutil para que armonizaran y crearan un efecto romántico y delicado. Para delinear usé un bolígrafo de tinta marrón. El dibujo de la chica con las trenzas es mi favorito, no esperaba que los colores en el cabello me salieran tan bien.

Este es de los retratos más recientes que he hecho (en realidad, es más pequeño de lo que parece). Lo que me gusta de este retrato es la fluidez de las pinceladas con acuarela (como verán, es el material que más suelo usar), a veces me cuesta ser tan espontánea pintando con ellas y siento que no logro el efecto que me gustaría en los retratos especialmente, pero cuando hice este dibujo me relajé y fui mucho más paciente para dejar que cada capa se secara bien antes de añadir otra encima. De nuevo usé el bolígrafo de gel blanco para resaltar algunos detalles. Lo que más me gusta de este dibujo es su mirada.

Esto es todo por ahora. Me quedan unas 20 páginas para terminar el sketch, así que ya tengo que ir buscando uno nuevo para poder seguir compartiéndoles nuevos dibujos y experiencias.
