Finances are tricky business.

Money makes the world go around but getting money is never easy.

If it was easy we would all have it. Instead we have a huge social inequality between the have's and the have nots.

So how can one go from nothing to becoming a person that has money and savings?
Is there a secret to healthy finances that people aren't sharing or can the answer be found in a self help book or seminar that promises wealth in ten easy steps.

I think that anybody who believes that they can find the secret of having money by paying a somebody elses wages is in trouble from the start.

I don't have a lot of money but I'm very comfortable in my personal finances for a lot of reasons.

If I was to give out one key point to having healthy finances it is neither secret or profound.
It is simply put,

Stop spending money on stupid shit.

Simple bt effective advice to live by.

If that's the secret then the steps are also very simple.

• Work hard to earn money.
• Cut down your expenses.
• Avoid debt.
• Put any spare money to work.
• Build up passive incomes.
• Ignore the noise around you.
• Buy what you need, not what your told that you need.

These are all part of the same concept that is basically all about choosing where to spend your money wisely, save what you can and then find ways to make it work when you have built up some savings.

A fool and his money are easily parted.

It's an old proverb but it still rings true. I've worked with enough people who got paid on a Friday and were broke by Monday. Living above their means, buying things they didn't need, no plan for future events.

Fools. Then they were stuck for money all week until the next payday while new clothes were thrown in a pile at home.

We don't really need that much for a great life but if you were to believe the adverts we need absolutely everything. Things will make us happy and we should buy their ones. Ten the next one, and the next.

Things will never make you happy if your not happy already.

I know that having money in the bank makes my life easier, and this makes me happy. It's not about the money itself but the ability to pay my bills, go for nights out, holidays, take days off work. The money makes it possible but it's the quality of life that makes it all worthwhile.

With enough money you can take part in a lot more positive experiences but not by throwing it away.

Be smart with money, not tight with it.

Some things are worth the cost so it's up to each person to decide what is worth the money and what can be skipped.

If you can get this right, you can build up your finances to get it working in the background instead.
