Reflecting on 2024, Planning for 2025

If I should describe my 2024 in a word, it would be quiet. But it hasn’t been that quiet even though I love to think my year was a quiet one. For most part of the year, I haven’t been active on social media and all of that which in a way was a personal decision. Once, I wrote a post a while back and I was chatting in the comment session with someone, the person made a statement which has stuck with me for a while now. He said ‘those who don’t show up are forgotten’. And in a way it’s true.

In todays world, once you’re away from the media space for a while, it’s more like you’re forgotten. But for me, I wouldn’t say it was the same cos I mostly had people checking in on me. I decided to step back a bit to allow me assess a whole lot while also working on my goals. I must say, the year has been very overwhelming to the extent that I barely had time to catch up with people.

Maybe, I should describe my year with the word Growth and not quiet. But whichever is fine I guess. Reflecting on the year, I think I’ve learnt more than I can ever imagine. Especially about myself and now , I would say I’m on the track to being a much better person than I was a year ago.

One personal lesson I learnt from the previous year which I believe will be useful to me this year is that, growth isn’t a one day thing . It’s more of a step at a time. Just like we started to crawl first before we learnt to walk. That’s what growth is and even if we feel we aren’t doing much, we must remember that little drops of water make a mighty ocean.

Also, I’ve learnt that asking for help is okay. The youth of today is battling with a lot. Depression , PTSD and many more yet in Ghana where I find myself, most people don’t seek help. Most of our habits or reactions to stuff can sometimes be as a result of depression or a trauma response. So, once we feel something is off, we should and must make it a point to seek help. Mental health also matters as much a physical health does.

Personally, I would say these are the two top lessons I’m walking into 2025 with and looking into the future , I see the year to be a fruitful one. Happy new year to you.🎉
You’ve got this!🤝

You've learnt quite some good lessons and thanks for sharing. I agree with you that in today's media space if you don't show up you're easily forgotten and this because that's where majority of people now engage and spent most of their time. I'm happy that you have real friends who would check up on you, life is good when you have those who really care about you. Growth takes time and effort, we can all become the best version of ourselves with time. Again it's ok to ask for help when we need it but the real issue is people don't ask for help because nowadays when tell people about your predicaments, the next day they will be out there, something that could be your private or perosnal issue is out there. But this should not hinder us from asking for help when we need. I would say we should ask for the right help from the right people.

Great input. As for our business being out there, most people face this because we don’t confide in the right people. I guess every experience is an opportunity to learn.
Thanks for passing by and happy new year to you!🎉❤️
