Orphan Black: The Clone Club

When it comes to movies, I’m very picky with what I watch. How I moved from not liking movies to always having to watch an episode of a series everyday is still a shock to me. I wouldn’t say I’m big on movies but I do try.

Speaking of movies, I randomly came across bits of this movie on TikTok on a normal day and you know how these things happen. The next minute I was out downloading 5 seasons of this movie.

The Plot

Imagine going about your not-so-good life on a random day, trying to make meaning out of the mess you call a life and all of a sudden, something weird happens. Not anywhere, but at the train station. A suicide. While people were rushing to save the victim, your next thought were to steal from the victim.

This is the story of Sarah Manning and how her already messy life became more messier as she found out the suicide victim she stole from at the station was her look alike. To keep up the show and live the kind of life she wanted, she decided to impersonate this cop, only to find herself in deep shit.

It doesn’t end there, there are numerous attempts to kill her and to add to that she finds out she’s a clone. And oh, they weren’t just two, or four, or even six. There was always more than the number they imagined, spread all over the world. To make things worse, these girl clones found out they had brothers. Clone brother and sisters? Such a nice family reunion.🤭

However, the family reunion never took place as the clone brothers we set out to kill their sisters. It was more like a family war , but between the creators of these clones who were scientists, out for different things. At the end of the day, it’s play hard or go home.

My Thoughts and Rating

I love science movies and to think that this movie was produced in 2013 still baffles me. How didn’t I come across it sooner? But yeah, I eventually did.

I’d rate this series a 10/10 as it’s the best one I’ve seen all year, no cap. The plot twist was mad at every point in time. You think you know what’s going to happen next but hey, jokes on you. The producer has other plans.

One thing I loved the most about this series is how the producer managed to blend science with family, love and survival. This series made me laugh and cry at the same time. I saw how much people sacrificed for those they loved and those they didn’t even know much about. Just the thought of them being family was enough for you to go to the end of the world for them.

This is a series I would strongly recommend to anyone out there. Trust me, it’s worth it!
