Mommy To The Rescue? : The Parenting Dilemma

When we talk about sheege, there’s no form of sheege I haven’t seen before. If you don’t know what sheege means, it basically means problems or suffering. Life is simple, but there’s always an obstacle even in the simplest of thing. I mostly hear people say if only they were ricin they won’t be suffering this way and all I say in my head is, if they put rich peoples problem on a table with yours ,you will quickly pick yours up.

There’s literally no one in this world that can tell me they haven’t faced any obstacles in all their years of living. Obstacles come in many forms, both big and small. Funny enough, we sometimes create problems for ourselves and I’m guilty as charged. I love challenges as I see them to be a stepping stone but some challenges are bigger than me which would need the help of others like my parents and friends.

Growing up, I wouldn’t say my parents watched me suffer. We lived comfortably but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have my own problems. Even when I started to walk, I would trip and fall and my mom would ask everyone to leave me to get up on my own and keep trying. If people kept coming to help me up, trust me, I will still be crawling till now cos I was one lazy baby. This was an obstacle for me at that point, but my parents gave me the opportunity to overcome it on my own and I would say they were very right for doing that.

I’m not a parent yet but I have so many years of experience being a parent to kids I didn’t give birth to. I know how kids are and so I know my way around them. I always say there’s no manual to being a parent. You just have to do your best and pray to God to shape your kids well. No parent is perfect and that’s okay. I know for a fact that I want my kids to grow in a beautiful and comfortable home in love. But that doesn’t mean I would always have to step in when they have problems.

There are some problems I would most definitely have to help them with but with others , I would have to just allow them figure things out. That’s what every good parent would do as this shapes your kids to have problems solving skills and good thinking capacities. I know my kids are the future leaders and so they must be groomed as such. You can’t always be running to mommy or daddy when you mess up. If you go and find your own problem, find a way to solve it the same way you found it so that next time you will learn sense.😂

I’ve heard some parents say that because they suffered while growing up their kids also have to suffer that way so that they can appreciate them. Imagine starving your kids all day just because you also starved some 15 years back. That’s some different level of wickedness if you ask me. You might be surprised but some parents even do worse. I hope they see the light soon. As for me, I know for sure I won’t always be in my kids business trying to play the superhero. They should also get the opportunity to be their own superhero cos that’s the only way they will grow.

Such stories astonish me, but then I understand there are all kind of pathetic people in the world.
