Holiday Plans = Detty December

One word everyone, especially the working class love to hear is holiday. Even on a normal Friday, everyone is always hyped up for the weekend as if Monday is not just two seconds away so you can imagine how happy we are when we are to have about two weeks of holidays in the coming weeks. Someone would think I have big plans because of how I’m looking forward to the holiday season but guy, nothing.😂

Last week, we Ghanaians got to have a holiday and Friday which gave us a long weekend. We had our national elections on Saturday and from Sunday through to today, I know there’s soloku (jams) going on in the major parts of the country because Ghanaians have finally seen the light and voted right after 8 good years of suffering. Enough of the political stuff. Let’s talk holidays.

I don’t know about others but my break start on 23rd of the month and would end around the 3rd of January but I would probably officially end it around the 10th of January next year.🤭 I don’t celebrate Christmas but I sure will accept my Christmas and new year gifts from all my hive friends not forgetting my senior man @fashtioluwa.😂 Like always, our Christian friends would most definitely go to church to pray and have some end our year hangouts at church after which they would also hang out with their family.

Aside all these, we the gen z’s would also be having our detty December on the side. More like a party after church thing for my friends and I.🤭 I don’t really have a whole plan for the holidays but I think wherever the party leads it’s where I’ll be at. If there’s no party, I’d just stay in my room. Towards the starting of the new year, I’m looking forward to going home to see my family. It’s been ages since I’ve been home and I think I’ve had enough of this place so I break would do. Maybe, I do have a plan for the holidays. Just not sorted out yet I guess.

Also, aside all the fun and ups and downs, I look forward to having the much needed rest I’ve been yearning for all year round. I know I probably won’t have any rest as I’m always up to something but I do hope to have some rest during the holidays so as to start the new year strong. As I’m here typing all my plans for the holidays which I’m not yet certain of, it’s just dawning on me that I’d probably be caught up in so much work during the holidays. sigh.

Apparently, I have a business trip planned for the end of the month since that’s the only time my other colleagues would also be around. As I always say, everything is negotiable so , wish me luck as I go to negotiable my way out of this trip. This year, detty December must happen.
