Heart-to-Heart Moments: Spreading Joy Through Connection
The purpose of charity is not to make you feel good. It is to make someone else feel valued. - Marian Wright Edelman
Take a look around you and tell me what you see. When I look around, I see so much poverty, pain and suffering. Children below the ages of 10 roaming the streets with no home or food. Others are sent out under the hot sun to sell in order to make a living.
Life isn’t fair. Nature has it that, we can’t be equal. There’s always someone who has more than you and someone you have more than. What do you do when you are comfortable in life and have nothing to worry about. The best you can do is to extend a helping hand to the less privileged. It’s not about how much you give, it’s about how you give it.
Charity comes in many forms so it’s up to you to decide which one you are capable of. Sometimes just a word of encouragement and time spent with someone can change their whole life. Personally, I hate to see people suffering. I remember how I attended a training where one of the participants was visually impaired. I would always shed silent tears just from sitting across the table from him. But with time, I came to understand how life works. This young man didn’t need my pity, he needed us to embrace him for who he is and we did.
Even at my lowest, I’d always put supporting others first. My best form of charity is giving out to others to make their lives easy , helping them with their basic needs and spending quality time with them. There are a lot of orphanages out there which we don’t even know of. I bet there are people out there who have never payed a visit to an orphanage home. At some point I didn’t believe orphanages homes were real until I payed a visit to one.
Not everyone has the opportunity to be with their parents and loved one like some of us do. Some of these people have lived in orphanage homes right from birth and sometimes the conditions of such places isn’t anything to write home about. But what can they do as kids? Giving out to these kids and spending time with them brings me inner peace because I know they didn’t choose their life at such a young age. No one has ever become poor by giving so let’s give out to the less privileged when we can.
I hope you enjoyed reading this, thank you for your time.
These things really make me appreciate my life. When ever I’m in a trotro and thinking about my problems then I see people at the side of the road begging, I think that this could be me.
Hmmm. Everyone has problems but life could be worse. We need to be thankful of the little we have.
It's good to see the Hivean group in your place. And you guys seem had a charitable act for these kids.
There are many ways to help those less fortunate without spending a lot of money. Some of them just need comfort or ears to listen to. I pity those kids who suffer because of the negligence of their parents. I hope all parents should consider their child's future before making them 😅, especially if they are not capable if raising them well..
I agree with you. No one should have kids when they know there not capable of taking care of them. Sometimes parents should also consider their kids future and happiness before having them.
I pray for happiness for everyone having a hard time out there.
Thanks for passing by.

Orphanage homes are real and I can only imagine how they survive. Whenever I see a flyer on reaching out to orphanage homes, I try as much as possible to tip in something, no matter how little it may be. Giving is living.
No amount is actually small. God bless you for all that you do for these people. Thank you.❤️
Amen and you too
