Encanto: The Heart of the Madrigal Family
Trust you’re having an amazing day and also enjoying your holidays. The past few days, I’ve been holed up in my room binging shows since I don’t really have much planned for the holidays.
Today, I saw this cartoon which I loved so much and I thought to share with you all. It’s been a while a watched cartoons and this one took me back to my childhood days even though I didn’t see that much cartoons then.😅
This movie is more family oriented and starts with the story of how the Madrigal family was blessed with a miracle when they thought all hope was lost during a time they had to flee for their lives. This gift, they called the Encanto was the home of the Madrigal family and everyone in their community.
But, one special thing about this family was that there was magic in the family and every descendant of the family had some sort of powers. One could carry anything you could think of, another could heal the sick, another could also bring flowers out of thin air and so on. All these powers constituted to the success of their home and community and the Madrigal family made sure to help anyone they could.
But, the main character in the person of Mirabel was the only member of the Madrigal family with no magic powers. On the day her magic door was to open, there was nothing to show cos the door never opened. Her grandmother, Abuela considered this as a curse and feared the candle which held the magic in their home would soon die.
Even though Mirabel in a way felt like an outcast, she still found ways and means to stay useful in the family though she wasn’t required to do much. At the end of the day, it turned out her gift was to bring the family together and make their bond stronger than it’s used to be.
To me, this movie portrays the importance of family and how relationships with our family matters a lot no matter how they make us feel.
My highlights of the whole movie were the main character , Mirabel and her uncle Bruno who was not even spoken about in the family. Their story resonates with most people as they felt like outsiders in their own home. But truth is, their family didn’t really understand them to some extent.
This thought me that no one is perfect, including our families and they might go wrong in one way or the other. But, one thing we must do is to make sure we show up for our family in any way possible like these characters exhibit in the movie.
Also, another take home lesson for me is that everyone matters no matter how little they contribute. At the end of the show, Mirabel who didn’t have any magic saved the whole family with her clean heart and spirit. Turns out her gift/magic was to bring the family together and save their Encanto.
This movie is one i would totally recommend and I’d rate it a 9/10. Great music, characters , plot and so many lessons. I hope you give it a try.
Ciao!
I watched this movie
I can tell how interesting and how important family is
Even when there is a bad egg in the family you don’t just tosh it away
Beside the One they all turned their back on was the one that was right all along
Right. I agree with you.
