Canadian rapper and actor Aubrey Drake Graham (aka Drake) bet just over $600,000 in bitcoin on the English football team Arsenal, as he bet the latter would beat Leeds United and Barcelona to win the “Clásico” against Real Madrid. .

Unfortunately for him, the club from the Spanish capital, Real Madrid, defeated its biggest rivals 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Drake and Bitcoin Betting:
A few days ago, the famous musician signed a deal with one of the most famous Spanish football teams, Barcelona Football Club.

As part of the agreement, Drake put the logo of his audio company - OVO Sound - on Barcelona's shirt during the derby match against Real Madrid on Sunday (October 16).

Before the match, the Canadian bet over $600,000 in bitcoin on the Catalan team to win the most anticipated soccer match in Spain.

He also expected the London giants Arsenal to defeat Leeds United.

Winning both bets would have given Drake a whopping $2.8 million profit.

Arsenal won 1-0, but the Catalans lost the Spanish derby 3-1.

After the match, Real Madrid topped La Liga, while Drake scored another unsuccessful sports bet using Bitcoin.

Drake's continued loss:
Over the past several months, the musician has placed many bitcoin bets on sporting events, and unfortunately for him, his bet has not brought in any profits.

In March, he lost $275,000 worth of bitcoin in a bet at UFC 272.

Two months later, Drake placed a $234,000 bitcoin bet on Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc to win the Spanish Grand Prix.

However, it seems that the Formula 1 champion was not the one who bet Drake, who chose a better strategy and tires more suitable for the scorching temperatures in Barcelona and took first place.

All those unsuccessful bets brought bad luck to the Canadian rapper.

Some have noted that it often brings misfortune to athletes or sports clubs after betting on them.

In 2019, French footballer Paul Pogba became the first victim of the so-called “Drake Curse” by taking a picture of him with the musician.

Days later, Manchester United (the club where Pogba played at the time) was defeated by Wolverhampton.

Later that year, Paris Saint-Germain defender Levin Kurzawa snapped a picture of him with Drake.

Soon, the team suffered their biggest defeat of the last decade, losing 5-1 to Lille.

UFC fighter Conor McGregor also became a victim of 'The Damn', losing his fight to Khabib Nurmagomedov after Drake bet on him.
