Today I took my children to make merit at a Thai temple during the weekend.

Hello, everyone.
This morning at 6:00 am, the sky outside looked dark with rain clouds that were about to fall soon. I woke up early even though today was the weekend. But because I almost promised my children that today I would take them out to make merit and do some small activities together during the weekend. The children were still sleeping comfortably on the bed because the weather was cool, I didn't wake them up at 6:00 am. I went down to do housework and put the clothes I had worn in the washing machine, then drove to the morning market. Today, the morning market was very lively. There were many shops selling things, but I didn't have time to walk around like every other time. So I hurried to buy breakfast and some desserts that my daughter likes to eat, then drove back home. When everything was ready, I went up to wake my daughter up at 8:30 am. When the children got up, they went to take a shower, brush their teeth, and get dressed, then went down to eat in the dining room. After they finished eating, it was my turn to prepare to take a shower and prepare everything to put in the car, including the things to offer to the monks this morning.
At 10:00 AM, we started driving from home to the temple where we would make merit today. It took us about 1 hour to reach the temple. Today, there were not many Buddhists making merit at the temple, but there was one monk who was sitting at the temple waiting for Buddhists to come and pay homage and give blessings. When we arrived there, we brought the offerings to the monks or went into the chapel. First, we went to pay homage to the principal Buddha image in the chapel. After that, we brought water and snacks that we had offered to the monks and then the monks chanted and gave us blessings, which is considered an auspicious thing according to our faith and has been practiced since ancient times.

I really like being in the temple because the atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful. Sometimes I have the thought of meditating at the temple as well. But the problem is that I still have to take care of my children, so I can't isolate myself in a place like this. My youngest daughter is also someone who likes to worship Buddha. I've taught her to pray before going to bed, which she does well. So when she comes to the temple, my youngest daughter has very respectful manners.
After finishing praying, we walked around the temple. We spent quite a while in the temple because it was quiet even though it was in the city, but it was quiet like no other. After being there for a while, my daughter started to complain that she was hungry. So we found a place to have lunch, which was a small restaurant where the kids could eat easily without any hassle. After that, they still had other places they wanted to go. Because it was a holiday, we took the kids out to play without rushing back home. The kids were so happy until the evening when they wanted to eat sushi, so we stopped by a sushi restaurant and took the kids to eat what they wanted before they went home. This was my little activity this weekend. The kids were happy, so I was happy with them. Thank you to my friends who stopped by to read my article and see the photos I shared today. I hope everyone enjoyed it.
Thank you for following and supporting me so well. See you in the next article. For today, I have to say goodbye. See you again. Bye-bye, friends.
