Everyone Has A Day. A Quick Reminder. My Saturday Experience
Every time I attend a burial ceremony one thing always crosses my mind and that one thing is that one day I shall also die, no one will ever live on earth forever this is the truth everyone should come to terms with. Death is a constant thing for every living creature. Saturdays are mostly dedicated to burials and wedding ceremonies in my culture. Today was not an exception as my neighbor who died some months ago will be buried today. Therefore occasions like this are also a reminder to live right because we all have limited time on earth hence whatever we wish to do, we should do it as fast as we can because death is a respecter of no one whether you're a street sweeper or on the throne, hence everyone should be prepared for death because it gives no one a prior notice before it comes knocking.
Notwithstanding, death is a reminder that all the wealth we accumulate in this world is for people we will leave behind hence, the best way to make use of the wealth we earn from the earth is to give back to the people by helping the poor and the needy as well as the less privileged in the society. Most times the weather we leave behind after death is being squandered by the people who had no regard for us while we were alive.
Also, death is supposed to be a reminder to the living that anyone can die at any time and place. The truth remains that humans are limited in ideas as to know when to die. As a day passes by everyone gets closer to their death. No matter how you see it. Everyone will not live till old age, some will die in the early years of their life. This knowledge will help one to know how to live right so that when death comes, we have no regrets whatsoever.
Reputations and legacies should be things that all humans should strive for. What kind of life will you be remembered for? Some people care less about this but I am saying that legacies and good reputations are what everyone should aim at while living. It's either you're remembered for the good things you did or for the bad things you did. A good name is better than multiple riches. Your reputation and legacies can open doors of blessings to your family and at the same time, it can obstruct their progress and hinder their growth. The fear of meeting your creator at death should not be a reason to live right on earth. Some people are afraid of divine punishment after death because they were told of eternal condemnation for every life not well lived. If this is the reason why you should live right then you are naturally a good person.
While we live on earth we should not lose this consciousness that a day of our death is coming and we have to prepare for it before it takes us unawares.
