Building A Solid An Active Community On Web3: An Ingredient For Support And Success
No one can undermine the importance of building a solid community of like-minded people. I learn this concept from Hive and other web3 platforms. The growth and development of every project depend on the activities of community members.
This is what happened and I learned lessons the hard way. Some weeks ago, one of my friends was nominated among the winners of the Vibes music competition. As a result of these, the voting was open to all and sundry to vote for their favorite artist for the week. Among those we contacted told us that they were voting for the person within their circle who was also nominated for the week. We were stranded and disappointed but we had to win the contest because of the prize attached to it. I later reached out to another friend who gave me a condition before he could help us. I agreed to the condition because we were desperate and out of options. He said that he would talk to his people to vote for me. I later realized that this person has built solid relations and community in hive. They have a WhatsApp and Telegram group where they share ideas and spur members up on the hive blockchain. As I inquired more about the community, he told me that they were the people he onboarded to the platform. With this, I was able to know and understand the efficacy and necessity of building a community and also having control over them.
The following are the importance of building a solid community
strong support: one of the very important of having a solid community is for support. No one will support you in times of need than your community member. They are the ones who will stand by you and build whatever you want to build. No web3 platform can succeed with active and committed members. This why whenever a new project is announced, the first thing they need is to see how to own a community of supporters and with a promise to give them a certain percentage of their earnings.
The right community members should be able to support a system from collapse by contributing their quotas to the growth and development of a project. This can only be possible if members see themselves as part of the project and not outsiders.
Moreover, you would not need to pay for services from your group members. Just as I stated earlier, they will be willing to support you without any payment attached to it. In my case, I had to pay a certain percentage of money before they could support me. There is power in numbers. So, the majority will always carry the vote in every matter. And with the right community members, you are sure of always winning when an issue of voting is involved.
Now, the message is for you to start building your support base if you did not. Talk to people about hive, onboard them, and create a group where you always share ideas about hive and any new development in the platform. With this, you will be able to influence certain decisions on the platform.
