Arranged Marriages/ Relationships: Causes And Effects
A lot of marriages and relationships are a product of third-party arrangements. While this is so, I can't tell. So many people have gotten their life partners and have enjoyed a blissful family life as a result of this. Also, many have lived the rest of their lives in regrets as a result of this. This is the type of marriage I call, marriage on recommendationHowever, in some societies, this has formed part of their common values where everyone is bound to follow it and anyone who does otherwise is seen as going against the norm of the society. People who find themselves in such a society must hire a trustworthy person to go on a search mission and look for a worthy partner for the person. This to a large extent yielded results because such a person on a mission must be an older person who is supposed to be experienced and also know the supposed partner in person before going into a contract on behalf of his client.
Causes of arranged marriage
There are many reasons for a third-party marriage. Like I said earlier, some are a result of the culture of the people. As a result of this, one is not allowed to close a partner for his or herself unless being sanctioned by a parent or a trusted individual.
Also, the issue of failed marriages has given rise to third-party marriage. This is a belief that whenever you marry a stranger, such a union is likely to crash because of the inability to know the person's character and behavior. Understanding an intended partner's behavior is very paramount. Most times, dating and courting may not reveal the true nature of the person. Hence someone who is head over heels knowledgeable about the person is in the right position to recommend such a person.
Another is the porous nature of our society. With the high rate of immorality, people seem to fall victim to irresponsible and callous partners. Therefore, someone must attest to the fact that such a person is morally upright.
The phobia of talking to a partner is another reason lots of people settle for an arranged marriage. Some people are afraid to approach the person they are crushing on. Hence, they may decide to pass through someone close to the person to make their requests known to them.
Impact of arranged marriage
The impact of arranged marriage or relationship can be positive and also negative. Let's begin with the negative aspect of it. First of all, let us understand that as a result of an arranged marriage, one can end up with the wrong partner. Sometimes in the process of finding a partner for another, such can be auspicious and recommend someone, with a different worldview.
On the positive side, it makes finding a partner effortless. Also, one can get the best partner via an arranged platform because the third party is likely to look for the best especially if he's a family member.
On a final note, I would recommend that everyone should take responsibility for finding their partners because he who wears the shoe knows where it pinches.
Arranged relationship and marriage is not bad, because it can turn to a positive and enjoyable one.
But it can be dangerous when it is now seen as a norm.
