English:

In Uruguay there is a very popular sweet made of almonds, called in Spanish “almendras garrapiñadas”. Therefore there are many street vendors of this sweet, and moreover it is made “in situ” in a kiosk mounted on a bicycle, as it is shown in the image.
Notice the smoky chimney and the Uruguayan flag mounted on the bicycle.

The photo was taken in the winter of 2012 with the camera of an iPhone 4 and edited in Gimp.

no wonder they look shivering, with the jacket and the half folded in front of their chest, do you usually see snow rain during winter?

We have similar seller here in my country, only with different goods to sell.

I remember that it was quite cold and windy. In Montevideo does not snow, but it rains and is very windy.

Besides almonds, peanuts are also used for this type of sweets.

Thanks for your comment.
