Saturday musings

Last year the winter was pretty warm, too warm in fact. First time ever to see the almond trees blooming in January. And same is this year, maybe few days later than last year, the almond trees are again in full bloom. Tender pink colour cover the big trees next to my home.

It is early, way to early for the trees to put their spring dresses. What if the weather changes and winter returns with vengeance. And that's what happened. Few days later after I made these photos, the winter reminded how cold and nasty can be. It started to snow with gusty wind. Would these petals survive?

Early blossoms make me thinking about the rush, the will to speed up and hurry. When I was little, I could not wait to grow up. I wish time to pass quicker. Not anymore. Life is too short and we as adults want to slow down. Or do we? All the time we are in a vortex, challenged to do things quicker at work, at home. Days become shorter, or that is what I feel.

The rush of doing things fast caused nothing but stress. Do we really need to run from one errand to another in high speed? Why are we pushed to be faster in doing everyday tasks? Is it our own will, or is it our boss, partner, client who made us frantic about deadlines, quick solutions?

All is connected, if we are on this merry go round, we are not alone. We may drag or attract others to follow.

The warm weather woke up the bugs and the hoverfly is early guest too, attracted by the flowers.

Even though it seems the nature is also accelerating, the warm days are over and we are having real winter now. I am tucked in bed with a cuppa while writing. The picture outside is grey. It is cloudy and windy Saturday, typical winter day. As much as I like to be warm, it is better the four seasons to follow the route and not to be skipped.

And that's all for now and my musings.
Hope you are having great weekend!

We really do rush through life, then suddenly wish to enjoy that time once again, all in slow motion, only ever played out in memories now.

Indeed, that's is so well said. I wish I have slowed down years ago.
Now we can enjoy what is in ftont of us, hopefully with not so fast pace.
Thank you very much for the curation!

Appears most do the same thing, race around for years before slowing down to question and look carefully. Have a pleasant day in whatever you do.

Thank you, Joan.

Yeah, I wish to think I am becoming wiser, but I feel not. But at least I put some brakes and tried to be not so fast.

Have a great Sunday!

Ah....@emma-h this may speak to you! How I love those delicate blossoms. So fragile looking and so short lived but what a crowning glory to the tree. It is sad for me that so many are caught up in the fast lane @nelinoeva. Fast and instant EVERYTHING. Except! The seasons and all that surrounds them. The little creatures that survive thanks to the blossoms, and without which we can't survive. The changing weather and with it the cycle of life, whether bird, bee, blossom or hurrying people. While most may whizz past there are those of us who stop and smell the sweet fragrance, reach out and gently touch the delicate pink petals, pause and appreciate the work of the bee
