A man's Predicament😓😓

What I See

I see a black and white picture of an elderly man,with his left palm placed on his jaw as a support, looking at something but nothing in particular. It looks like he wants to cry but is trying not to let a tear roll down his cheeks.

What I Feel

I feel the man is lost in real,deep thought. I also feel his pain, sadness, distress.

Story

John was a farmer who lived in a small village with his wife and daughter. He works on his farm and also for others to pay him. He had to do so,for his sick wife and little daughter. Whenever John is reminded of his situation,he would be sad and wished for all that to end.

His wife, Alice had been supportive until she became so sick that she couldn't even walk properly,let alone do any work and his daughter,Claire was just ten. Ever since then,he has been taking care of his family, financially and all that.

One evening, when John was back from work,his wife's breathing increased rapidly. John had to call their neighbor who assisted in taking her to the hospital. They reached and the doctor gave her an injection that calmed her down and put her to sleep.

The doctor then called John to his office and told him that his wife's condition had deteriorated and that she needs to be operated on,as soon as possible. John asked the doctor to operate on his wife that he would look for a means to pay,but that's not how it works, the doctor said something that rang on John's ear for more than thrice,

You've gat to act fast,if anything happens to her, you'll have yourself to be blamed.

John's farm crops would be harvested in a week's time but,one week is long, would he wait till then? what if something happens to his wife while waiting? All these thoughts and the doctor's words kept ringing in his ear one after the other. He rushed to his friend and asked him to lend him some money that he would pay him back as soon as he can. His friend lent him the amount he requested and told him to pay him back in a month's time. John thanked him and rushed back to the hospital.

The doctor did the surgery and it was successful and told him that his wife would be discharged in a week's time and that she will come back after three weeks for her drugs. John went home and on reaching home,the worst happened to him 🥺🥺.
A neighbor ran towards John(as he was sitting outside)as if was been chased by a ghost,gave him the most shocking news of his life. He told John that thieves from the neighbouring village set their farms on fire damaging people's crops,that it was nearby people that quenched the fire,but unfortunately,his farm crops were damaged excessively as a result of the fire.

John rushed, only to find out that not even a seed of corn would be recovered. He went back home,sat on one corner of his room as you can see in the picture. Many thoughts were going through his head.

What am I going to do?
What am I going to do about the money that I borrowed from Mr Charles?
What about my wife in the hospital and her drugs?
What about Claire and her school?
What am I going to do???🥺🥺🥺
