Real apocalyptic exercise.

Real apocalyptic exercise.

Imagine an apocalyptic scenario,

A devastating nuclear attack, with China at the center of this global threat, in the face of such a gloomy panorama, the question arises, would current technology be able to withstand the impact of a nuclear explosion, since that is precisely what Chinese scientists decided to test.

Conducting a shocking experiment to evaluate the resilience of their communications equipment in a nuclear war scenario, the engineers involved in this project wanted to know which data link communications systems crucial to military infrastructure could continue to function amid the chaos of an explosion nuclear.

Current situation.

The test was taken beyond the traditional limits of military standards and the results were surprising, but because of this concern now, in early 2024 the United Nations issued an alarming alert, the threat of a nuclear attack was at its highest level. Since the end of the Cold War, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres gave a speech during the Arms Control Association conference highlighting how new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence were amplifying the risks.

He warned that nuclear extortion had returned to the table with reckless threats of nuclear catastrophes made by several nations. Guterres called for nuclear powers to resume dialogue and commit to not using nuclear weapons as a first resort, however, in the midst of these tensions Russia announced changes to its nuclear doctrine, allowing the use of nuclear weapons in the event of perceived aggression.

Furthermore, the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East also raised concerns about the use of nuclear weapons and attacks on nuclear energy facilities.

Protection of the communication system.

Faced with this increasingly dangerous global scenario, Chinese scientists have intensified their efforts to protect the country from a possible nuclear attack. They focused on a specific threat, the high-altitude electromagnetic pulse or EMP, this type of attack occurs when a bomb nuclear explosion and the stratosphere thousands of meters above the ground, releasing a wave of electromagnetic pulses that can destroy electronic devices and in an instant, according to military guidelines from both China and the United States, any equipment certified as resistant to an EMP pulse must be capable to withstand an electromagnetic field of 50 kV per meter, but in search of greater security, Chinese scientists increased that impressive power to 80 kV per meter, simulating more extreme consequences of a nuclear explosion.

The results were encouraging after a small delay the data link communication equipment regained full operation without significant damage, as the world lives under the growing threat of a nuclear catastrophe China positions itself to ensure its cutting-edge technology can withstand and operate even in the worst scenarios.

This experiment is a powerful reminder that in the modern era, technology not only redefines the future, but can also be the key to survival in times of crisis.
