I hope you are very well and getting to know new places to share with us in Hive! I come to tell you about a very special building that we met recently, La Casa Ronald, one of the most emblematic tourist and artistic points in the tour of Monumental Callao.
Callao is the constitutional province where we currently live, is located in Lima, capital of Peru. It is very large, with many neighborhoods. Looking for something new to do at the beginning of the year, we found the tourist area of Callao, we went there for half a day cycling from our house and when we arrived we were fascinated, a very beautiful and commercial area of Callao.

We had several places we wanted to go, but when we arrived at the Ronald House we were in love and by the time we finished touring all the rooms of the building and we left it was already getting dark haha.
Monumental Callao is an area that has been recovered by art, and the Ronald House seems to me the best example, so it is what we will focus on in this post.

It is a neoclassical style building, 5 stories high and a rooftop (which unfortunately was closed by the time we got to the top, a visit is pending) where different performances, concerts, etc. are held. It has a total of 14 exhibition rooms on the first floor, the interesting thing is that inside each room there are stairs to go up or down that take you to the same or other exhibitions, it is a beauty.

It has a very interesting history. Its name is given by its owner, Mr. Guillermo Ronald, who commissioned the construction of the building to the English engineer Bunting, who started with the construction in 1900, finished 28 years later and cost 1 million soles.
It was the most modern of the time, it has an elevator that I will not hesitate to use in the next visit! And it was the first one installed in a building in the port of Callao.

A beautiful passage that connects the streets Jr Independencia and Jr Constitucional, and in its columns marble busts of important characters, from the passage we can enter each of the exhibition halls. There is also a small library.

As we go up through the windows and balconies we can have a privileged view of the surroundings and the sea.

At some point in the building operated different types of private and state businesses, offices, even an English Bar. It is said that during the earthquake of 1940 the structure was rocked, but then it remained without a crack.

I hallucinated a little how it would be like to live there, in that wonderful place full of art, and researching for this post I saw that they have an art residency program for foreigners! Truly one of the most imposing, beautiful and architecturally impressive buildings I have ever visited.

¡Espero estén muy bien y conociendo a full nuevos lugares para compartir en Hive! Yo vengo a contarles de un Edificio muy especial que conocimos recientemente, La Casa Ronald, uno de los puntos turísticos y artísticos más emblemáticos en el recorrido de Monumental Callao.
El Callao es la provincia constitucional donde vivimos actualmente, se encuentra ubicado en Lima, capital de Perú. Es muy amplio, con muchísimos barrios. Buscando algo nuevo para recorrer en este inicio de año encontramos la zona turística del Callao, fuimos a golpe de medio día pedaleando desde nuestra casa y al llegar quedamos fascinados, una zona muy hermosa y comercial del Callao.
💜 Mis obras favoritas de las exposiciones 💜
Teníamos varios lugares a los que queríamos ir, pero al llegar a la Casa Ronald quedamos enamorados y para cuando acabamos de recorrer todas las salas del edificio y salimos ya estaba oscureciendo haha
Monumental Callao es una zona que ha sido recuperada por el arte, y la Casa Ronald me parece el mejor ejemplo, por lo que es en lo que nos enfocaremos en este post.

💜 Estas son de la misma exposición, pero en el sotano 💜
Es un edificio de estilo neoclásico, de 5 pisos de alto y una azotea (que lamentablemente estaba cerrada para cuando llegamos hasta arriba, queda pendiente la visita) donde se realizan diferentes performances, conciertos, etc. Tiene en total 14 salas expositoras en su primer piso, lo interesante es que en el interior de cada sala hay escaleras para subir o bajar que te llevan a la misma u otras exposiciones, es una belleza.

Tiene una historia muy interesante. Su nombre es dado por su dueño, el Sr. Guillermo Ronald, que encargo la construcción del edificio al ingeniero Ingles Bunting, que comenzó con la construcción en 1900, finalizo 28 años después y costo 1 millón de soles.
¡Era lo más moderno de la época, tiene un ascensor que no dudaré en utilizar en la próxima visita! Y fue el primero instalado en un edificio en el puerto del Callao.

Un pasaje hermoso que conecta las calles Jr Independencia y Jr Constitucional, y en sus columnas bustos en mármol de personajes importantes, desde el pasaje podemos ingresar a cada una de las salas de exposición. También hay una pequeña biblioteca.

A medida que vamos subiendo, por los ventanales y balcones se puede tener una vista privilegiada de sus alrededores y del mar.

En algún momento en el edificio funcionaron diferentes tipos de negocios privados y estatales, oficinas, hasta un Bar Inglés. Se dice que durante el terremoto de 1940 la estructura se meció, pero luego se mantuvo sin una rajadura.
💜 Tambien hay lugar para el arte urbano 💜
¡Alucine un poco como sería vivir allí, en ese lugar tan maravilloso y lleno de arte, e investigando para este post vi que tienen un programa de residencias de arte para extranjeros! Realmente una de las edificaciones más imponentes, hermosas y arquitectónicamente impresionantes que he visitado.
