The Temple Fair is back!
After a three year hiatus because of 'you-know-what' the fair finally returned to out local temple. The locals were overjoyed to have it back and turned up in their droves to enjoy the incredibly diverse choice of food vendors, side-shows, games and entertainment and although not as big as in the pre-Covid years, nevertheless, there was plenty to keep people happy.
The temple provides a stunning backdrop to the festivities with lights being strung everywhere, including our street that leads to the temple which was blocked solid every night and the local motorcycle taxi drivers directing traffic and thankfully stopping motorists blocking our side roads. Motorcycle parking was taken care within the temple grounds as people turned up from all over the local area for this 9-day spectacular.
Just to prove Thailand's incredible and never ending battle with the old and new, all the what in the west we'd consider very old fashioned entertainment, could be paid for with the scan of a QR code. We really have become leaders in digital banking and it was funny to see people paying for a game of 'throw the (blunt) darts at the balloon' or Bingo, complete with beer bottle tops to cover the numbers with their phones!
Sophisticated it's not, but a simply wonderful night out for local families it is, the atmosphere, noise, sights and smells are so thick you could cut them a knife. As for the heat! All that neon added to the ambient temperature and the sweat just drips off you. It's absolutely magical.
If Enid Blyton were Thai, its places like this that she'd be writing about.
I'm just glad I'm not picking up the bill for the 'leccy'!
Thanks for dropping by and I've pinned the EXACT location to the wonderful @pinmapple and all photos were taken by me on my old Mi10 and if you want to read a longer post I wrote about it last time out in 2019, click here

The car park was rather more impressive than the local NCP back home. And it was free!
The crowds turned out for this noisy, brash, wonderful family event.
I'd love to say this photo was deliberate but it was a happy accident it turned out blurred. I like it.
Who needs those fancy coin-op machines you see at the arcades when you have a couple of remote controlled diggers and a table full of candy to go at!

Wow! The whole place looks amazing, the lights, the structure, everything has a Disney vibe but with a more mature touch. I loved it
Thank you so much. It's real Buddhist temple and they hold these fairs for the community and to raise funds for the temple.
Best wishes and thanks for dropping by :-)
