365 Cups of coffee!

365 days of coffee.

Can you tell me something you did every day in 2022?
No!
Well, I can! Drink coffee.

Without a single doubt in my mind, every single thing I did every day was have coffee.
It didn’t matter the time, hot or cold, cappuccino, latte, or dolce; I had it.

And it that this single act is to me like eating, and let me tell you, I can skip meals, but I will never skip coffee.

I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs, and I rarely drink alcohol, but if coffee is an addiction, you can call me a coffee addict.

I don’t see it as such; for me, it is part of my everyday life, like the 2 ½ bottles of 700ml of water I drink every day, it has been engraved in my since I was a little girl.

I have to confess that there is one coffee I do not drink and that it: is black coffee.
It has to have something extra; it has to be creamy, with a touch of vanilla, cinnamon, condensed milk, and maybe whipped cream.

You see, I grew up in Latin America; in my house: the smell of coffee was my alarm clock, recently brewed coffee on that white fabric piece that was dripping into that aluminum pot, and after my mom took a cup of black coffee for my father, she added the powder milk and made that “cafe con leche” for her and me.

Getting ready for school, having some bread, and that cafe con leche, just put me on track to face the days at school; that was just ok at times…

Starting the day like that was my life for all the years I lived with my mom, and now that I live by myself, how can I shake that off?

Coffee was part of my 2022, as it has been all my life. I can tell you what I was doing just by looking at my coffee pictures.

1.- I took it on the last day of my weekly meetings with my writer's friends, and it was only the first time I ordered I large cup of coffee there.

2.- I took it having breakfast a few days before a dear friend left the country before embarking on a new adventure in her homeland.

3.- It was one of those there when you miss home, and I wanted to have that small but significant breakfast I had when I was a little girl.

4.- I was exploring my neighborhood, and I found a coffee shop, also I need it to be a peaceful and comforting place to relax and write some thoughts after an intense therapy session.

5.- Another day in December when it hits you that you are now in a new home.

6.- They day, a croissant and a cappuccino became my breakfast.

7.- The day I had to say bon voyage to an incredible friend that decided an island was too small and wanted to explore beyond the horizon.

You see, my life is full of coffee and that coffee it is connected with emotions, with people, and with times of the year.

I love it, and wouldn't change it for anything…

I hope the new year brings 365 more cups of coffee with endless experiences and incredible anecdotes.
