Memoir Monday: It's not the photo, it's the story behind the image.
It's not the photo, it's the story behind the image.
I remember that the wait was endless for me, as endless are those stairs, which in this photo appear empty, but are usually full of people going up and down, in a pilgrimage of emotions.
In literature, I have read a lot about the symbolism of stairs. Generally going down them has to do with degradation, the underworld, failure, death. As opposed to ascending, which is sometimes considered a metaphor for going up to heaven, reaching glory, success. What is true is that going down is faster than going up and that only the one who loves climbs all the steps he has to climb to meet his loved one. For a whole month, I went up and down these stairs, daily, many times a day, just to see my sick nephew.

My whole heart was squeezed @nancybriti1. I'm so sorry for that.
;)
Jajaja. Me hiciste reír, chica frágil y triple xxx!!
😃
Ten un lindo día.
Igualmente!
I'm very sorry you had to go through that pain. I've never heard of the symbolism with stairs but it makes sense. Those were a lot of stairs to climb! It reminds me of a staircase in a hotel I was staying in in Lisbon.
There is a lot of theory about them, including talk of the unconscious. Anyway, this is a photograph that will always remain in my memory. Your picture was really good. I would have loved to have one as good as yours. Hugs and take care of yourself
