Ponte de Lima Party// Festa de Ponte de Lima [EN/PT-BR]
[English]
Hello everyone, I hope you are all well 😊 This weekend I went to Ponte de Lima and I only found out that the Ponte de Lima party was taking place when I got there 😊 I'll show you and tell you a little about what I saw 😊
The festival is called Feiras Novas, it is a nationally renowned festival, attracting, every year, thousands of visitors from all over the country to this great pilgrimage. These parties take place all over the city, the concertinas, the challenging songs, the folklore and the gastronomy transform this party into a unique and unforgettable event, in the pilgrimage that is considered the “largest live cultural congress in Portugal”.
Now I'm going to show you a little of the historical procession. It was a very beautiful procession, which talked a lot about the past in the city of Ponte de Lima
In this procession, lots of horses, kings and people playing drums passed by. It was really beautiful 😊
There were also some dolls, which here in Portugal are called the Cabeçudos, I don't know what you call these dolls in your countries, I don't even know if they exist there.
then we went for lunch, as it was the party in Ponte de Lima, as expected the restaurants were all full, so we left the party area a little and found one that had plenty of free tables. It was still 12, the restaurant was empty when we left at 1pm the restaurant was already full. We ordered the typical dish here in Ponte de Lima, I had never tried it before but they told me it was very good. We ate rojões with sarrabulho rice 😊
Then for dessert we went to the party to eat some churros 😊 Hmmm I love churros 😋
Of course, you can't miss it, whenever you're at a popular party I always have to drink a dose of gininha. I love it, and not to mention it felt good 😊
At popular festivals here in Portugal, it is customary to have many of these stalls with various stuffed animals, which have several games where you can win one of those stuffed animals if you win the game.
Afterwards we went for a walk around the city of Ponte de Lima and learned a little about the history of this city. Ponte de Lima is very beautiful, I recommend it to everyone who comes to visit Portugal to place it in one of its landmarks 😊
The streets were all decorated, it's a shame I didn't stay there until nightfall, to be able to see the lights on.
The river that passes through Ponte de Lima is the Lima River. We went to the Ponte de Lima bridge, which is over the river, and there were very few people passing by, so I stayed there for a while just watching 😊
I hope you liked it, see you soon friends 😊

Neste cortejo passaram muitos cavalos, reis e pessoas tocando tambores.
