Visit to the Gorner Gauge - Part 1
This is one of the most magical places that I have been to. I am going to share this in two parts since there are many pictures of this place. I was searching on net for places to visit in Zermatt during my 3 days stay in the town. Majority of the searches was giving me all the standard options like Matterhorn and those types of famous places. Just a couple of them highlighted this place called Gorner Gauge and I was curious about it. When I checked out the photos of this place I was in awe of it just from the pictures.
Then I came across some reviews of this place and it mentioned that it is a not to miss place. It's an exceptionally beautiful place. It is a natural beauty, just at a half an hour walk from Zermatt town. There is a bus also which goes till a certain road and then from there you trek down in the woods to go to this place and after around 15 to 20 mins walk, come the actual path of Gorner Gauge which is a wooden walkway.
The path is very well made and there is absolutely no hassle walking up to the end of the Gauge.
The gorge was formed by the Gornera River over thousands of years and is known for its unique formations and spectacular waterfalls. The green-tinged serpentinite stone is around 220 million years old.
Let me share this beauty with you all.
The first 15 minutes walk is through the woods and you enjoy this walk with the fragrance of the Pine trees all around. No vehicles here so again you enjoy the fresh air of this place.
From here on the actual path to Gorner Gauge begins. There is an entrance fee of 5 CHF, which is absolutely worth it and the entry is up to 6 p.m. during the summers.
In the beginning you do not see anything and wonder really what it is.
As we move ahead we start seeing the Gauge, but here also you do not get an idea of what this place actually holds.
The view of the Gauge starts getting better
And I keep moving ahead. You can see the path is very good to walk.
Now I am really starting to admire this place. The color of the water is just so stunning, and by now I can even hear the gushing sound of a huge waterfall
An absolute beauty getting in to sight
It surely is a wonder of the world
Let me continue more of it in the part 2 tomorrow, to show you the beauty of this place.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
