The Reformation Wall
Today I will share with you some pictures and history of the Reformation Wall in Geneva which I visited during my stay in Geneva. It is a historic monument and was built in honor of some of the reformation leaders of Geneva. This wall is built on the the grounds of the University of Geneva and overlooks the Bastion Park. You can walk through the park to this Wall or there is another way which leads down from the main road. The wall was inaugurated in the year 1909, which is more than 100 years now. Such old places do fancy me a lot. There is so much of story behind all these types of places. They are a tribute to the great heroes of the Country.
That's the Reformation Wall. It's a long wall with statues of the main protagonists of the Geneva Reformation. The 4 main center ones are William Farel, John Calvin, Theodore Beza and John Knox. The Wall basically honors the individuals and events of the Protestant Reformation through these statues.
It mentions the year in which these protagonists brought the reformation with their story.
That's a very profound scripture on the wall
These are the statues of the 4 main reformist of Geneva.
For many centuries Geneva was under the rule of a prince bishop, he was not going very well in the 15th century with all the economic shift that was happening which led to a political and religious revolution. During which a lot of reformations happened and this Wall is in honor of all those reformists. It's a 325 ft long and 30 ft high wall.
I am not sure what exactly these emblems mean
From one end to another
That's the outside area of the park. An Opera
It's interesting to know a little bit of history about any place we visit. It gives a fair understanding of how strong the roots of the place are.

Great that a reformation wall is built in honor of some of the reformation leaders. I think these are turning points in history, in which the old gives way to the new. Ancient places always give us a good vantage point of the past, with the events and stories that happened in it.
True, and it also leaves an important message for the future generations to reflect on their ways of dealing with the world
This is a great historical monument of Geneva. The information you shared about it makes it relatable. The pictures are nice as it portrays it well for easy illustrations.
Thank you
