🙌🏽🌻Sublime Sunday🙌🏽💖 by @c0ff33a - Trying out new ways of making candles

Candle making is one of my hobbies and around this time of the year I do spend some time on it, since it's festive time and I can give them as gifts to my friends. I have been wanting to enhance my skills and make some new innovative types of candles. I have been following some of these candle makers on Insta and they make amazing theme candles. Looking at them I am also inspired of making something different this time. Since it's the first time trying out some new concepts I decided to make some samples first.

I shortlisted 2 ideas from all that I had seen and decided to go ahead sampling on them first. One was a coffee glass theme and the other one a double candle, which was a design candle on top of a plain base candle.

So let's see how both of them turned out to be.
Starting with the coffee glass, first of all I did not have brown color for it, so I had to make one from the existing colors I had. I mixed blue and orange and that gave me the coffee color. I had to do lot of trials and in different proportions to come up with the exact color and I did manage to.

This particular candle is a mix of soy wax and gel wax. So it is like cold coffee with ice-cubes in it. I set the first layer of soy wax, then added some square small pieces of gel wax, which I set in another container and then cut it in to small pieces. After that filled up the glass with soy wax again. and then once it cooled down around 90% I added some more cubes of gel wax to give that ice-cubes effect on top.

This was before I added the gel cubes.

And this is after adding the gel-cubes

Getting the right color was the biggest challenge

What do you all think of this coffee theme candle. I feel there is still room for improvement, there are some flaws, and now I know the process, so next time will improve on it.

The second one I tried the double design gel candle is this one.
It's a gel based and then on top there is a star shaped gel candle which is inserted in the same wick

The making process

I used this one to see the burn and it has been perfect. The flame is not too big or small, it's proper. I added some glitter and sparkles in it. This one also has lots of improvement scope, and I am sure next one will be better.

In the next 1 to 2 weeks I will be making more of them.
