It's always a joy with Crystals. With a 2-hour drive from the city Muscat there is a place called Al Hoota Caves. A few hundred years ago the cave was discovered by the locals, it's quite a fascinating place to visit. There are unique stalactites and stalagmites formation in the Caves. I visited the place with my friends and then they also have a museum displaying some of the rare and unique crystals of the place.

Today I am not sharing the picture of the Cave but sharing with you all the pictures of the Museum which fascinates me more then the Cave also as I am a Crystal lover.

There were variety of Quartz, Calcites, Limestones and Onyx seen in the place, some of these have been discovered locally, well most of them and a few have been gifted and kept on display. " "20230213_143708.jpg""

This is a Limestone with rudists found in the local region of Oman. " "20230213_143757.jpg""

A Gastropod. They are composed of mineral aragonite. These are one of the oldest fossils. In the Crystal healing therapy, an Aragonite crystal is used for the healing of root chakra, it is a crystal for grounding. " "20230213_143811.jpg""

Another Gastropod, from a different region. " "20230213_143819.jpg""

This one is my favorite, a Chalcedony. It is a type of a Quartz family, but unlike quartz which is a one single crystals, this one is formed with several finely grained microcrystals. " "20230213_143829.jpg""

The Petrified wood. " "20230213_143856.jpg""

These are how we see the stalactites hanging in the Cave. " "20230213_144157.jpg""

Another Aragonit Crystal " "20230213_144209.jpg""

The Stalagmite formation in the Cave " "20230213_144228.jpg""

Other varities of quartz " "20230213_144246.jpg""

This one is a calcite

It's quite an interesting place, A lot to be learn about fossils and how different ecosystems evolved over a period of time. They have a few gamers also where you can find out how the different types of formations happen with the amount of CO2 and H2 compositions. And then they have a timeline viewing which takes us through the millions of years, how Earth has evolved and for the next millions of years what it may look like. A good place for children to visit and learn.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
