๐๐ฝ๐ปSublime Sunday๐๐ฝ๐ by @c0ff33a - "Oman & The World" Museum visit
This was a visit made last month to the Musical Museum of Oman. The Museum is called as "Oman & The World". This place allows to explore the different sounds right from the ones created by the nature to man-made sounds and the music of Oman. It explained the science of sound, the connections of sounds and the various instruments. Quite a fascinating place with a lot of try out equipment's to experience different types of sound.
As we entered there were steps going up to a hallway, taking us to the museum.
The first section was the Sound of Nature. There was a visual presentation with sound effects of how a sound originates in nature. They called this part the sounds of Oman nature. Where there were sounds of the Mountains, the Ocean, the shores, the birds, the mangroves and the desert.
It was a very nice experience with a visual effect and dolby sound system. This particular one is of the mangroves.
It said that when we understand the sound, we understand the world around us. The pulse is the very first sound to our ears, right from the time when we are in the womb, we hear this sound, the sound of our mother's pulse. This particular instrument could be played and it gave the sound of the heartbeat. Quite a serene experience.
Each sound creates a sound wave and the energy of the sound defines the quality of the sound we hear. This particular instrument has a mix of Frequency, Amplitude and Timbre. There are high pitch and low pitch sounds and each of them have a certain frequency of wavelength. The Amplitude is the energy that is in the wave of the sound and accordingly gives the volume of a sound. Like high sounds have high amplitude waves and soft sounds have low amplitude waves. When all the vibrations of different frequencies and volumes are combined into a single sound wave it is called the timbre. I am no expert in this but it was a good learning for me going through these instruments and reading them through.
The trumpet. Quite an art to play. It was used a lot in olden times, but nowadays I do not see them being used much.
This was another experimental instrument. A percussion instrument giving out different sounds and pitches.
This was the Tree of Life. There were a set of questions to be answered and based on that your Tree of Life would show up. My Tree of Life is very much good from what results I can see.
This was the last instrument where whatever movements we make would give a shadow and sound effect on the screen. It was a fun thing.
Truly music is the sound of life, when we listen to a sound so many emotions trigger within us. A sound tells us the story of our life. Through music we connect, music is a common universal language that unites us through boundaries and cultures.
Though I spent a lot of time here, I would still like to visit it once more to experience it again.
Thank you for visiting my blog. ๐ผ๐ป๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐น๐บ๐ธ
Wow. This seems like a nice place to be. I will love to spend time in the sound room.
It is a delightful place with so many beautiful sounds that keep playing
I wish to be there now... It'll be a nice feeling hearing those sounds.
I love music but I prefer the sounds of the nature as the sound is soothing to the ear. Generally, music helps us when we are down. I don't know if you will agree. The tree of life you've mentioned really fascinated me.
Same here, I too love the sounds of nature, and yes music is a great food for the soul. Life would be so dull and boring without music
